So, right now I'm listening to Evie scream and jump in her crib almost two hours after she normally goes to bed.
She got her 18 month shots on Friday, including the second half of her flu shot. She was feverish all day Saturday, which broke slightly after some Tylenol. She never had a concerning fever, I think just over 100 was the highest I read (I guess, I don't really trust my thermometer.) Saturday she was very lethargic and seemed to have a hard time walking around, like her legs were jelly. The strangest thing? She's been having sporadic moments of random babbling, latching onto one word she knows and repeating it constantly along with babble. Like, almost manic babbling. And now she absolutely will not go down to sleep. She's slept consistently and at the same time every night for over a year. She currently does not have a fever.
Something just feels very off and I don't know what. I wouldn't even know what to tell her doctor...she's talking a lot? She's always been a chatterbox, but nothing like this before.
Am I overreacting? Has anyone heard of ... babble ... as a side effect of either the flu shot, dtap, or hib, or hepb? (Yes, four shots. Four.) And for what it's worth, this is the first time she's ever reacted to her shots.
Re: Odd behavior after vaccines
Hope she feels better in the morning!
