September 2012 Moms

I need to whine.

G is being really difficult. I know it is teeth. I have my husband's 30th here on Saturday. I have so much prep and cleaning and G is picking this week to be clingy. The fake whines are driving me bsc, real whines I could sympathize with. My patience is wearing really thin. I didn't go to the gym so I could accomplish more at home and I am kicking myself because I would have at least had some time away from her. I lost weight this week which is great but I am PMSing bad. I need to save my extra WW points for this weekend but so far I am off to a craptastic start. G is whining because she wants the tv on and she wants a pacifier and I am trying not to give in but I am still almost 3 hours from nap time.

Now that I typed it all out these are all such trivial little things but are really weighing me down today.

  • Trivial things add up to big things some days. I hope she takes a good, long nap for you so you can get a break and get some stuff done. You could always still go to the gym post-nap, right?

Post nap is close to dinner time and they don't have child care after 4 :(

What if you scoop her up and go quickly before nap? Or work out briefly at home while she sleeps? Sometimes exercise allows me to put all the little annoyances into better perspective so I don't snap.

I'll set aside some nap time time to do something
  • Maybe she needs an earlier nap? I just put C down about 2 hrs early because he was a disaster today too.

Also have you given her anything for her teeth?

  • I posted yesterday about what a nightmare DS has been.  Between my two kids I was 30 minutes late to work today.

TBH, if I were in your situation, I would totally give in to the tv and the paci to get done what I had to do.  Good luck.

  • Yes, I have medicated and gave in to the paci and kids music. I never put her down for nap earlier. I'm afraid she will take a crappy nap and then I have longer to deal with her after nap. So I deal with it now and hope for the best. Lunch then nap so I am in the home stretch!
  • Kids can be shit heads. This is a fact. You're doing a great job. I always give in to the TV when I have things to do. MOTY. Good luck this week, you can do it!

bwahaha, I'm stealing this line to remind myself next time DD is whining and yelling "NO" and DS is calling me "bad mommy."

  • I'm sorry your having a tough day, mine was yesterday and today is going much better (knock on wood). I hope her teeth come in soon, it seems like they are taking forever for her this time.

Max has been jonesing for earlier naps for about a week now.  What gives?

Good luck, redneck.  I'd try to squeeze in jumping jacks, running in place, pushups and crunches during nap time.

  • I always feel most stressed about the cumulative shit, as opposed to big one-time stressors, if that makes sense.  I can pull out the superwoman action to deal with major issues, but the individual piddly dink stressors that just pile up really get me down.

Changing naptimes doesn't go over well in this house.  So I hear you on that concern.

Go to the gym tomorrow and give yourself a break and an energy boost!  Worth it.
