What does DH eat for breakfast?

What does your DH usually eat for breakfast? Does he make something for himself? Do you make it for him? Does he eat at home or on the run?

Re: What does DH eat for breakfast?

  • We have a breakfast sandwich maker so an egg on an English muffin with cheese and Canadian bacon. I eat the same thing so if I'm up and moving when he's getting ready for work I make his first then make mine. If he leaves before I'm up and moving/I'm otherwise occupied with caring for the kids he makes his own and mine too. There's really no rhyme or reason to our mornings.

He usually eats at his office. They have a kitchen & they cook breakfast while waiting on their paperwork.

  • We all have breakfast together, I cook while he eats and feeds DD (not that she needs to be fed, but she never wants to eat anything, he "encourages" her). Then I sit and we finish eating together. We watch the news while we eat.
Our typical breakfast: Bread with butter and jelly, eggs, fruit, and milk.

  • If he works day shift, he usually has an omelet, egg sandwich, or pancakes and eggs. It depends on how early I get up and what I feel like making. If he's coming home from night shift, he'll just grab a yogurt or a bowl of oatmeal before going to bed and then wakes up in time for dinner so his meals are a little off then.
He leaves/gets home before the kids wake up in the morning so I like to get up when he does so I can eat and have some time to myself before they wake up.
  • Oh, I guess I should say what we do. I make him breakfast every day because I'm always up early by choice and mornings are hard for him. It's usually just toast with pb, fruit and granola, egg on toast, or a homemade frozen waffle, etc. And coffee.
I'm impressed by all these breakfast sandwich eaters!

  • He eats at the office.  Usually he takes bananas (one for breakfast and one for a snack) and instant oatmeal.

  • He makes himself a protein shake with just the protein powder and water. If he's going to work he drinks it in the car, if it's one of his 2 work-from-home days he drinks it here. The only time I cook him breakfast is on our breakfast-for-dinner nights!

  • On weekdays he'll have toast with feta cheese, walnuts and honey. He could eat that every single day.  On the weekends I'll usually make something else just for a change, though - usually pancakes, oatmeal or eggs.

During the week, DS and I are usually getting up when DH is getting ready, in which case I start putting breakfast together. On weekends we all get up together, so DH and I will often make breakfast together.

  • He does his own breakfast, eats at home before work.  He has the saaaame thing every day- a bowl of vanilla greek yogurt with my homemade vanilla granola (I make a batch every 2 weeks). And coffee.

Same w/ mine. I keep encouraging him to eat bfast (and pack a lunch....he's one of those don't eat all day til dinner types....dunno how he does it....) but he is stubborn.

  • On the run: Usually a Belvita bar, bagel, doughnut. A thermos of coffee. Something small that will not get all over him. On that rare occasion that I do get up to make something, it would be a breakfast burrito. He is usually out the house by 5am though so if I had a rough night of RLS, that is not happening.

Breakfast is his thing. He loves to make it on his days off. He has made french toast, sandwiches,  a scramble, steak n'eggs, cheesecake pancakes, and other things. Mmmmm......

  • If I'm up I'll make him something like eggs, egg sandwich, oatmeal or yogurt, granola and fruit. If in asleep he usually has cereal or oatmeal. I hate cereal so I prefer hot breakfast.
DH is in charge of weekend breakfast and it's always waffles, pancakes french toast or eggs of some variety with fruit and coffee.
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

  • DH doesn't eat a traditional breakfast everyday. He works 2nd shift and is usually getting home around 5:30am. He sometimes will have a bowl of cereal or breakfast burrito before he goes to bed. He then wakes up in time to eat whatever I make for lunch that day. If we have something to do early in the day/morning he might have a bowl of cereal or bagel before we go. It just depends. We both aren't huge breakfast people and I am really trying to get better about it.

  • He doesn't eat breakfast.
  • If he goes to work early -- he grabs a greek yogurt
If he goes to work in the afternoon -- he makes himself eggs and a protein shake around 10:30 when he gets back from the gym
If he is off -- I make either egg sandwiches, pancakes or waffles.

    So it depends I guess.

  • Usually nothing, sometimes a protein shake or a bagel if I go to breakfast before he goes to work. I'll bring him back something.
  • I make DH's breakfast and lunch. He eats both at work M-F. Typically I do a bagel sandwich or a breakfast sandwich but sometimes it's leftover pizza or left over whatever is in the fridge. I send cereal from time to time and he loves breakfast burritos. I always try to send fruit with his food because he only ever eats that at work. I only eat typical breakfast food probably 50percent of the time so he doesn't always get normal breakfast food either.

  • He eats the same thing every day. Big bowl of Cheerios, banana, and two clementines. God forbid we run out of one of those things... ;)
  • I have no idea.  I'm usually taking the girls to the bus stop or DS to school when he would eat.
  • He's from Iran. He loves cherry jam too, but it has to be sour cherry!

  • @nowababy, thanks for recommendation! We do have Bon Maman in stores here, I'll have to look for their sour cherry.

  • I am not usually awake when DH eats breakfast during the week.  He makes himself toast or a bagel to have with his coffee.

One the weekends, I usually make breakfast one of the days - either cinnamon rolls, pancakes, or french toast and eggs and bacon/sausage.

  • Cereal, yogurt, eggs, or waffles.
  • cereal or a breakfast pastry. He likes sweets in the morning (and late night)

  • He only eats breakfast here if I make it. His hotel serves a full breakfast that he's welcome to, so he will eat there if he skips it here.
  • Work days- a cereal bar and a yogurt that he keeps in his fridge at work (he gets there 7ish).
    Weekends- cereal
    O 10.08 & MJ 6.10
  • Either a banana for the road and a cup of coffee or oj and cereal before leaving the house.  Then they have catering service at work and he orders a plate or eggs/sausage or bacon.  He works outside so he needs the calories/hot food.

  • I normally pack him breakfast (cottage cheese and a pb sandwich) and lunch (leftovers) for him to take everyday. I did make him a bunch of breakfast burritos for the freezer before DD2 was born. He loves them.

  • He doesn't.  He prefers to skip breakfast and lunch, then eat something huge at 3 pm because he's starving, which means he isn't hungry for dinner.  I've actually started making him lunch if DD and I are eating at home (he works from home) and bringing it to his office so he will eat at a normal lunch time and then be hungry for dinner.

    He just can't stomach breakfast.

  • Water. Lol DH and I never eat breakfast. He never has and I can't. It makes me feel queasy. :-&
  • DH typically just grabs a piece a fruit and a granola bar on the way out the door. He's not a big breakfast eater. Sometimes he might make himself eggs or instant oatmeal. Very occasionally we do a nice big breakfast on a Saturday, which one or both of us might cook.
