Teething Symptoms, do tell.

For the past two days it has been a struggle to get my child to eat more that two ounces in a sitting.  She is having the "typical" teething symptoms (lots of chewing, drooling, red cheeks...) but the loss of appetite concerns me a bit.  Is this "normal"?  In pretty much all other ways, she is acting completely normal.  The only other oddity is that she got up at 3am last night and needed to eat (which is not totally surprising since she didn't eat her normal amount of ounces yesterday), but this kid has STTN since 10 weeks so being up was abnormal for her.

We are tracking wet diapers and she had 7 yesterday so I don't think sh'es getting dehydrated, but that is obivously a concern.  Thoughts?  Discuss...

Re: Teething Symptoms, do tell.

  • We have had days like that and that is when I use orajel or orajel type "medicine"/creams/gels whatever you choose to use. It seems to get him past the I just want to chew stage long enough to eat. That is about the only time I use it and just because otherwise he won't eat much and he will be eating about every hour.

  • Yeah there have been a few days when DS didn't eat much during the day and would eventually make up for it later in the day or overnight. The longest he's ever slept is 6 hours so it's not too out of character for him.

I found it helped to really calm him down and then sit in a super quite room with nothing to distract him and I could usually get him to eat enough. He's a quick eater though
    Good luck!

  • @wedding06. She is ff and she is doing the exact same thing. I was hoping we skipped the 4mw as she will be five months in a couple of days.... Silly me thinking babies do anything on "schedule". Thanks for the input!
