Babies partying at midnight

Ok, my son has joined the party club. The last two night when he wakes for his first feeding between 12 and 1 he is up and won't go back down for about 2 hours and then won't stay down for longer than 30 min for the rest of the night. Has anyone gotten beyond this and have any tips? DH brought him to our bed the past 2 nights, but I'm not doing it tonight because he was finally doing well in his crib and DH wakes him up when he leaves for work at 5am. Any advice or commiseration?

Re: Babies partying at midnight

  • No advice, but one of my girls is in the MOTN party club.  3 - 4 AM is her time. Lately I've been getting so frustrated that I end up handing her over to DH.  I honestly have no idea what he does with her.  I think he takes her downstairs and plays with her for an hour. I have one girl that won't get to sleep and wakes up a lot from 7-12 and another doesn't stay asleep and wakes up a lot from 2am - 6 am. Its some sort of conspiracy.

Naps are a thing of the past too, which I know is just making the nights worse. I'm sorry for everyone dealing with this. I literally broke down the other day and DH said he is worried about me. I just want my child to sleep again!

  • He had been doing well staying in his crib all night, but are others going back to bed sharing until this passes? It's not ideal, but, even though I don't want to, it might be the only thing for us all to get some sleep.

We sometimes end up bedsharing or sometimes DH actually takes the awake one downstairs for awhile and just sits and plays quietly with her so that I can sleep a little (he does the morning shift, I do the 7pm - 2am shift).  I don't always sleep well when we bedshare because I feel like every time I move I'm going to wake up LO, so I end up frozen in one place, afraid to roll over or move, and inevitably, my arm falls asleep or I get a crazy itch on my foot that I can't scratch or I suddenly have a sneezing fit that I try to stifle. Its just never a restful sleep for me because I'm so uptight about waking her.
