Short and sweet: Miles Finley C. was born February 25 (one day before my DD) at 12:29pm. My little Muffin weighed 8lbs 8oz and was 22 inches long.

Detailed version: Contractions slowly started the night of Monday, February 24 as my DH, DS and I were eating at In-N-Out. As my DH handed me one of their peppers to eat he jokingly said, "This is going to put you into labor. Trust me and eat it." We laughed, and went on about our dinner. Walking home I started feeling what I thought were BH contractions coming ever 10 minutes or so. I most certainly didn't think they were "it" until they woke me up at 4am the next morning and were coming every 2-3 minutes apart. I jumped in the hot shower, called my ride and waited for her to get here. My plan was to labor at home for a while before going in, but apparently I did that in my sleep and L&D urged me to come in since my contractions were so close and this was my second baby. My ride ended up getting stuck in wonderful morning San Diego traffic along with traffic from a wreck. So after waiting around for what seemed like forever I was literally on the ground on my hands and knees with contractions. My DH got our neighbor to take me to the hospital while he got our DS1 ready and fed and waited on our original ride. I got to the hospital around 7am with contractions 2 minutes apart and I had to be monitored for 20 minutes before they let me get in the hot shower and it was pure torture. I don't know how they expect any woman to labor on their back like that with no meds and no form of relief. Oh, and not to mention they had some stupid maintenance guy in my room CHANGING LOCKS with a power drill as I'm laying there without my husband or support of any kind. TP, TP, TP to all the idiots around me. DH finally got there just as she was giving me the "okay" to get in the shower. I labored in the shower for as long as they let me and then once I got out the contractions hit me like a ton of bricks. At that moment I buckled and begged for an epidural. The only two anesthesiologist there were in emergency c-sections and couldn't get free so I had to wait close to another hour. Got my epidural, at that point I was almost a 6 (the cutoff at that hospital for getting an epi), then my mom showed up for the birth, water broke at 7 cm and the nurse thought she saw thick mec in my water so the room was set up for delivery and I was informed of all the extra people that would be in the room to care for the baby. Next thing I knew, I was 10 and ready to go. Two pushes and Miles Finley C. was born weighing 8lbs 8oz, 22 inches long, looking EXACTLY like his big brother when he was born.

Thankfully, Muffin (my odd NN for him) avoided meconium aspiration, so thank you to all of the ladies in the SFPC who sent well wishes, but it wasn't even mec! Apparently, I had a small placental abruption which we made it through without anyone knowing. Scaring knowing after the fact though. All in all, it was a crazy labor, much different from the one I had with DS1, but it was so so worth it. I never knew my heart could hold so much love.
Thank you to everyone in the SFPC who made the last part of my pregnancy a little bit easier, knowing that I wasn't the only one out there feeling so crazy. You guys are the best.
Now, for all of you poor souls who actually read this entire thing, here is some baby eye candy for you.

Re: Baby Miles is finally here! (JA82406's birth story)
No, I was at Sharp Grossmont in La Mesa. And they were awful. I didn't want to make my whole birth story a big complaint, but that wasn't the only thing that happened.
-*trigger warning* When I was getting my epidural the anesthesiologist and my nurse were talking about the emergency c-section he just came from where either mom or baby's heart flat lined. REALLY?! No words to even describe how that made me feel.
-In PP I was told that DS1 could stay with us for the entire stay, even overnight and so that's what we planned on. Then after seeing countless nurses go in and out of my room after visiting hours were over at 9pm, all clearly seeing DS1 who was then fast asleep, someone came in at nearly MIDNIGHT with a cab voucher and forced my DH to leave with DS1. No prior warning. Devastated, angry and confused I fought back and insisted that he stay because we were told he could! Giving up, I told the charge nurse that she was going to have to allow DS1 to stay (sleeping still) in the room alone with me (also against policy) while DH put the car seat in the cab and then he could return to get him. And she actually had the nerve to tell me "A car seat isn't that important. Cab drivers don't care if you use one. When my kids were little there weren't car seats and they all survived."
They did so many other messed up things, but I really don't want to be a big complainer. Bottom line... I will NEVER deliver there again.
