Please recommend your coffee maker

Now that baby #2 is here, we're drinking a ton of coffee these days. We have a Keurig, but it's starting to die and it's not making much sense to buy another one since we're drinking so much. We'd like one that is programmable and possibly insulated. I'm interested in a coffee grinder too, but it could be separate from the coffee maker.

Any ideas for a good coffee maker? We're willing to spend a decent amount for a good one.

  • Not insulated but I have a Hamilton Beach that makes a single cup on the side, or makes a regular pot. I think it's takes the pods, too (not the k cups, those other pod things). I like it for the versatility.

My SMIL gave me a speech about the William Sonoma coffee maker with its fancy copper piping.

    Eta: hit post too soon
  • To continue, apparently it's amazing and makes your crappy coffee taste like Starbucks or something like that. It's a $200 and something maker but she loves it like it makes the fountain of youth.
  • We have the kuerig with the direct water line attachment and just use the reusable cups. No waste and no water to fill up. The programmable functions on it are awesome too! We use it for coffee, hot water for tea, hot chocolate, and hot water to warm up bottles of thaw frozen milk.

  • We have a Black & Decker that I got a good deal on thru Groupon, and we really like it. It is programmable, and has a glass pot (had a stainless steel pot once and hated it...impossible to clean). It also has a cool setting for small batches. Our grinder is Krups. Here is a pic of both...

  • I love our Keurig, but when we're making 4-6 cups a day, it seems so expensive and wasteful. We were thinking a big pot that we could program for each morning would be good for filling up our travel mugs...

Saeco Vienna plus. Best coffee maker ever. Technically makes espresso and Americano I guess since water doesn't slowly drip it's pushed through...but it's awesome.

  • We have a Hamilton Beach 1 cup maker. It's like a keurig but you can use whichever brand you want. I used a 20% off at BBB and it was under $30. We buy better coffee because it's still like $.07 per cup.
  • We have a breville like this one but without the grinder. Apparently to make the best coffee the most important thing is the grinder so we got a separate one :) cost more than the coffee machine but we get very nice coffee. Filter coffee isn't done here.
  • I'm a keurig convert too. To save some money you can buy the containers that you fill with your own coffee. I also buy the cups at Sam's and I save a bunch that way.

  • I have a Bunn and love it. It preheats the water so you get a fresh pot really fast and I think it tastes better.
