Stupid question..... Regarding clothing

I feel like an arse for not knowing the answer - but at what point do you stop with the onesies!?!?!

Re: Stupid question..... Regarding clothing

  • But doesn't it drive you nuts when her shirts ride up?

  •  I love onesies! But I think they're much harder to get after 12, 18, maaybe size 24 months. I think it's nice to have the onesies when they're crawling and scooting all over the floor to keep it from riding up all the time. Once they're walking, it's not really necessary anymore. I've just recently started dressing Rhys more in tshirts (and his muscle tank of course).

  • Not a fan of onesies at all. B wears them around the house but we stopped wearing them in public around 8 months.

  • We still have B in onsies - a lot of time, it's a onsie under a regular shirt.  I hate when her shirts ride up.  Perhaps once she starts walking, I will do less of that.

I wear a tank under my shirts everyday - - so maybe it's just a reflection of my personal dress code.

Baby GIRL #2 is due Jan. 7, 2015!

  • I got rid of them with DS once he started walking.  Couldn't stand having his shirts ride up and stuff when he was still a rug rat.  I suspect it'll be the same for the girlies.  We are still rocking the onesie as undergarment.

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

  • We stopped onesies a few months ago. I just cannot get her to sit still long enough to get them snapped

  • Thanks for the input ladies!

My daughter is the queen of hand me downs - and this morning when consolidating her clothes I realized she has a huge gap in stuff from 12-18 months. I wasn't even thinking that she will (hopefully) be more upright at this age, but was thinking it will be warmer and the onsie seems redundant! So I ordered a few short sleeve outfits this AM.  One of these days she'll start walking and such so this was great feedback.

  • Potty training. :-)

I always put a onesie under a 2 piece outfit bc the shirts ride up. I probably stop sometime around 18 months.

  • We use a onesie as an undershirt. I feel like it keeps the diaper where it belongs. When it gets warmer out he will probably be in size 18/24 months and we will ditch it altogether.
  • Onesie under a regular shirt, always. Once the weather turns (or should I say 'IF'?) I'll ditch them.
  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • The only reason we still do onesies is because it's freaking bitter cold. It's too cold (even inside) if his shirt rides up. As soon as it warms up a bit we'll be done with the onesies. I hate the extra step.

  • DS is about 50/50 with onesies & t-shirts now (DH dresses him in t-shirts, I mostly dress him in onesies because it's so f*#@ing cold out right now, I don't like his shirt riding up!).

We're slowly moving into 12-18 month stuff as he's starting to grow out of some of the hand-me-downs we have, and I am not finding as many onesies in the stores once you get to this size. . . but I think that will actually work out better once it starts warming up.
Myles was so pumped about the baby . . . until he figured out he'd have to share all his toys!!!

  • I put DD in a onesie underneath her outfit everyday. Like others said, it's just so damn cold out! I want her to be comfy. Once the weather warms up, we'll ditch them too. She's almost exclusively in 12 month now and the largest onesies I have are 18 month.

  • I guess I'm an odd ball but I never really ever put Cam in onesies. He gets warm easy so I never really used them under his clothes.

    Onesies 4 Lyfe!!!!

This!! LO always has a white onesie on. I treat it like an undershirt really. I have to wear a tanktop under all my shirts because I can't stand that feeling of a shirt riding up. I guess I feel like he may feel the same way?? Lol
