we were supposed to go see my ILs, but flights are full and weather forecast is crappy.

QOTW: I have a great recipe for pork chile verde. And for recipes, I go to Google.

usually get good ones from allrecipes or epicurious.

Monday is the 2 year anniversary of FIL's passing.... so my SIL is rolling into town for the weekend. And may be staying with us. (URGH - the thought of her, her husband and her two kids in this house makes me crazy - they are SO messy.)

And of course because she's in town we have another family lunch with DH's family on Sunday. I seriously can't escape these lately and would just love some time to myself this weekend.

No other plans.

My favorite website is skinnytaste.com. And my favorite recipe off of that site is currently Cheeseburger Casserole. I also make a great Company Chicken Dish - chicken, white wine sauce, stuffing and cheese. AMAZING!

Happy Friday!! Tomorrow I'll be driving 2 hours to go try on bridesmaid's dresses for my sister's wedding. I am so not thrilled about this. I'd rather her pick a dress and I'll send them my sizes - 5 different girls shopping for the dress will not be fun. Besides that, just the norm. The ILs are just getting home from vacation today so I'm sure we'll see them on Sunday. Oh and then more snow on Monday >:P

QOTW: I love Pinterest and have found great recipes there.

My beta is on Sunday so depending on the results I'll either celebrate with non alcoholic bubbly or cry into a marguerita Shabbat dinner as usual tonight with a family we recently met. We take LO to a class tomorrow morning, then errands.

I go to Pinterest or the Eating Well website for recipes. I also subscribe yo several cooking blogs in Bloglovin.

Today marks 8 years for me being in the US and tomorrow is DH's birthday so we are going out for lunch today, breakfast maybe tomorrow and tomorrow night I am talking DH to a fancy restaurant in the Hollywood area. Looking forward to getting out with the young and beautiful people tomorrow night....we will not fit in at all LOL!!

QOTW: I just google what I need but my Mom made a recipe book of all our family favorite recipes a few years back so this is my go to resource as it brings back happy memories too.

We are heading to our hometown tonight for H's birthday. It's tomorrow and his party is also tomorrow. How in the world is my baby one??

QOTW: I have a honey mustard chicken from one of the paleo blogs I follow that we absolutely love! I get my recipes from several different paleo blogs.

Nada going on this weekend. Hoping to build my son's train table before his bday next week so I can surprise him next saturday. Sadly it was an xmas gift but never got built. So that is what I will be doing and a friends bday dinner at 8 saturday night. Definitely not staying for the concert after I have a feeling I will be so tired after a full day running after ds.

QOTW: Usually burritos or tuna casserol..haha so gross I know

Tomorrow is SIL & my dad's birthday, but we aren't doing anything except phone calls and FAcetime with my dad. We will get together with SIL and ILs next weekend. Tomorrow DH & I most likely will take M out to lunch. If I get my act together, I'll make an apple flan for DH as his b-day is monday.

Sunday we hope to make it to the Aquarium for DH's birthday. We went a year ago and this time M can walk so hopefully he will get to enjoy it more.

QOTW: I like to cook so it's hard to say my fav thing to cook as it changes with my mood! I get my recipes from lots of different websites and cookbooks, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Paprika app. It's an app for recipe organization so all I do is import recipes I see online, then it becomes "my" cookbook so-to-speak. It's so easy to use and everything is indexed - no need to search for recipes under different bookmarks or different websites.

We are going to Disneyland tomorrow with family. It's supposed to be raining, so it should be a fun adventure with (hopefully) no lines! Sunday is our relaxing, work on the house day.

So this is my weekend...

work 9-5 Saturday, work 9-4 Sunday.

Sigh, I can always pick up lots of extra shifts at my job. but I always end up work like 6-7 days a week. I work in a group home so we are open 24/7. And they give out lots of 4 hour or 6 hour shifts to the part times. It takes DAYS to get full time hours. And I'm trying so hard right now to work a ton to pay off debt while Hannah is young. I don't want to be working so much when she'd older.

Maybe I'll convince hubby to do something nice Sunday evening. I feel like I've hardly seen him.

QOTW: I just hit up Google if my favourite cook book has failed me. I find I do tend to go to All Recipes a lot though. Well the recipe I use the most is one I found for a sweet and sour sauce made from scratch, so delish!!

@chiwifey & @ccam, I never pay for an app, but I would gladly pay for Paprika all over again! I got it last T'giving so I've had it for 3 months now. I use it almost daily. Apart from the ease of importing online recipes, it has so many nice features that I haven't found anything I DON'T like about it. It has a meal planner, grocery shopping list as well. I also love that I can pin multiple recipes (eg, if I'm cooking from 2 or more different recipes) and I can switch between them with just a single tap on my iPad. It also lets me "cross-out" ingredients that I have put in (very helpful when baking... have forgotten baking soda in banana bread once...ugh), and "highlights" a particular step in a recipe while I'm cooking. Finally, it lets me edit the recipe to make it my "own". Say I prefer X vegetable instead of Y, or I use 1/2C sugar instead of 3/4C. Once I change it, it's permanent so I don't have to always remember to cut down the butter or sugar. Hope you enjoy it if you get it!

Didn't mean to hijack @JBDamonM's thread, but @chiwifey, Hope you like the paprika app! Speaking of recipes, I made another batch of Broccoli and cheese nuggets today (mentioned by @dragonfly1226 a couple of months back). The recipe is from wholesome baby foods website. This is the third time I've made them, and M loves them. Well, I love them too but I try not to eat them but save them for M. M is not a fan of plain broccoli nor plain cheese, but he gobbles these nuggets up.

@pb_bride - I'm the same way about not wanting to oay for apps- but I am thinking I'm going to splurge on this one. I hate when I find a good recipe, make it, love it and then can't find it again. I also have had the best success finding recipes on my IPad vs in an actual cookbook.

Bummer, @Chiwifey! I didn't know C is allergic to eggs.

@JBDamonM, I make version No.1. I actually use fresh broccoli (I buy about 1.5lbs, assuming after tossing out the stalks it is more around 1lb). I cut it into florets then steam. AFter that I throw into my FP for a quick chop.

Or it says you can sub out eggs for a purée, which is probably what I'll do since I don't have 5 yolks available!

@mdiblasi10 wish I would have seen this earlier!! I was in my cousins wedding in San Clemente Friday and we took DS to Disneyland sat and sun! We prob saw each other in passing
