So I have been so paranoid ever since LO was born about bath time. I read on article on ' dry drowning' and it stuck with me. I kept her in her infant bath for as long as I could. Then we did the sink and she kept pulling up to stand so then we put a laundry basket in our tub and that seemed to work for a while. Well tonight we decided we'll try out letting her just be in the tub. She is a wiggle worm and we have a claw foot tub and it is a little high so she tries to pull up and she went after her toy and slipped right through my grip and went under. It happened for a split second and she was fine just got a little shook up. Fast forward to the end of the bath we were about to take her out and it happened again.
Needless to say we'll be sticking with the laundry basket for a while but I am just so paranoid that something can happen. I should have never googled because all I see are articles of dry drowning and I am a mess. Bad mom of year award goes to me. ugh.
Has this happened to anyone else? Im not really sure what I am looking for but I needed to vent.
Re: Bath time incident ; ugh.

It sounds like you are being as careful as possible and that by no means makes you a bad mommy
Lo hates bath time now so she just stands and wants me to hold her so I cam easily see how a wiggly baby can slip and go under. I am going to get a bathmat and maybe that will help.
Dry drowning usually happens when there's a near drowning experience , so water has been inhaled, and more than to make your kiddo cough and sputter a couple of times. The reason they call it dry drowning is because the kiddo appears to be ok.... they might cough a lot more but appear to be fine. Then they go home and a couple hours later drown because they still have too much water in their lungs.
Is your LO very movile (pulling up crawling, etc)? I'm not sure N would stay in it.
She is very mobile but will sit.
