Special songs for LO

Do you have  special song for LO that you sing? Something to help them get through the night/fussiness? Something that they will carry with them forever?

This by Ed Sheeran

Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift

"this" tends to calm LO down whenever he is fussy and "Safe and Sound" is like, the best non traditional lullabye ever!

Let's see what you ladies are singing!

  • I keep singing eternal flame from the bangles. He seems to like it after a meal as he waits for his burp to cone along.
  • Some old lullabies my grandma used to sing to us. But for my DH, its singing "Ring of Fire" to him. So sweet.

"Elsie Irene was born sleeping at 35w 6d on December 8, 2012. Mommy and Daddy miss you sweet girl."

  • Anytime LO is screaming, if I put on Serena Ryder's "what I wouldn't do" and she immediately stops crying.
  • My boyfriend makes up his own silly songs, which is adorable. Reece seemed to enjoy me singing along with the Muppets bohemian rhapsody.

If we'd had a girl, we were going to name her Georgia, after the song Georgia on my mind, so we played that a lot when I was pregnant. I should try it now, maybe he'll recognize it.

  • @sgrray929 cue ugly crying. LOVE that wall
@binny10 I'm a huge Dixie Chicks fan! Sweet Dreams is an amazing song and has made me teary way before I was ever pregnant or thinking about it.

  • Old Appalachian songs my grandma sang, lots of JE Mainer, and old hymns. LO doesn't seem to like anything current. I think she's an old soul. :)
"If every husband and every wife would constantly do whatever might be possible to ensure the comfort and happiness of his or her companion, there would be very little, if any, divorce. Argument would never be heard. Accusations would never be leveled. Angry explosions would not occur. Rather, love and concern would replace abuse and meanness." --Gordon B. Hinckley
  • DD hates the car. But today, Bittersweet Symphony came on the radio and she calmed down. Added that to my playlist ;-)

  • K's favorite upbeat songs are "What does the fox say" which I listened to constantly while baking, and "Thriftshop" by Mackelmore.

We're also big fans of The Dirty Heads and Matisyahu, and he seems to react to these very well :D
