I have never tried Peapod, but can't imagine amazon is that helpful for the majority of grocery items. I'm sure you can use subscribe and save for some stuff like cereal...but it seems like many of their grocery items take longer to ship or won't be under prime shipping.. Plus I can think of a lot of perishables that you probably want to consider on your grocery list besides produce and meats (breads, fruits/veggies, anything frozen).

  • I've found Amazon to be pricier with most grocery items. I do Peapod from time to time and love it. It's a tiny bit more expensive than going in store, but worth it when I'm super busy. The delivery fee isn't terrible either. Since I work from home, I can be a little more flexible in terms of delivery times, but if you pick a longer window for delivery, they normally take $2 off the fee.  They also accept coupons and are pretty good with offering subsitute items.

Their customer support is pretty good too. One time they came 45 minutes late and I got a $15 credit on my order.
  • I did PeaPod when we had DD and it was great.  I use Amazon here and there for pantry and bath and body items but they tend to be more unless I catch a good sale.

  • I used Peapod this summer when we had crazy busy schedules. It's great. You get delivery the first 60 days for free and then all kinds of deals after. Also, they can pull up your old grocery orders with your S&S card. I would say the only negative is that they don't have everything in the store available for delivery.

I used Peapod right after I had DS and it was great.  We were living in a temporary apartment with super steep stairs and after a c-section, it was really difficult to carry groceries up to our apartment.  You can always find free delivery codes, but we did leave the guys a tip.  They'll drop the bags where you wanted them to, so he would climb all the stairs for me.  There is no committment so you can do it once and, if you hate it, you don't have to do it again.  The produce and meat was always good.  Sometimes they would have to substitute though, which I didn't like.  I would rather they not have brought the item at all for most of the things.  But besides that, it was well worth it.
