Hello all,
My name is Danielle, am 29 years old, and pregnant with my first child, a baby boy. My baby was diagnosed this week with Sacroccygeal Teratoma (SCT).The tumor is a SCT type 2, mostly cystic, about the size of a baseball. The doctors are confident we will be able to remove this after birth. I will have a planned csection no later then 37 weeks, the baby will have surgery about two days after birth (depending on when he is born). We will deliver at CHOP and will be continuing my care there with a MFM. Lots of monitoring with weekly ultrasounds going forward. These tumors are known for growing out of control, and that is our main concern now.
Right now I am just trying to wrap my mind around everything that is happening. I haven't been to work for a week, but will be back in tomorrow. My family has been super supportive, but I haven't had to deal with the real world yet, and I am not looking forward to it,
Re: Introduction - SCT
It's really tough to wrap your head around tough news. For me, the waiting and not knowing has been the hardest. I'll be thinking of you and your LO and hoping for the best outcome for both of you!
Edited to say good luck tomorrow! You can do it.
