10 months... Sudden drop :(

Hello! We've made it! 10 months of breastfeeding. I've had many ups and downs on this journey and I do plan on continuing until she's ready to be done. However, this week has been awful for pumping! I only pump 2 oz in the morning. Daycare uses it to mix in with her breakfast (my choice). I nurse her twice during the day there. We have cut out midnight feedings (unless she REALLY demands it!). When we get home at 6pm it's on demand feeding. Weekends is in demand as well.

I've been drinking water. I've been eating enough. For me, the tea, fenugreek, and the cookies didn't work as well as I wanted them to. Anywho, I can barely squeak out .5oz!! The milk is in there. I know it is. I've replaced the membranes on my pump. I use the Medela in the brown bag. What could be going on? I have had a cold. Haven't been stressed out. No new meds. I'm puzzled.

Agree with PP. A return of af can reduce your supply before it gets here. It could also be related to LO eating more solids. I also had a dip in supply around then with DD. My lc wasn't too helpful but just basically said it was really common around that time. I hope it's just temporary and picks back up for you!

  • Agree with both PP.  Could be AF related - I had a supply drop around 8 or 8.5 months, and she returned at 9 months.  It's pretty common to have a drop around the 9 month mark - seems to be asked on here a lot!

Congratulations on your 10th month! Here's an article from kellymom that you might want to read. https://kellymom.com/bf/got-milk/supply-worries/low-supply/#supply
