This might be a dumb question but is pumping the same as breastfeeding when it comes to having periods? I'm over 10 weeks pp and havnt had a period. NOT complaining, just curious. I thought feeding by breast released hormones that kept you from having periods..?

I kind of assumed it was the same. I'm 12 weeks out and still no period. LO does nurse maybe 10-15 minutes a day but I wouldn't think that could have that much of an impact.

I'm almost 5 months now with no period. I just started nursing once per day in the last two weeks or so, but EP up until that point.

It's the same. I EP'd with DD1. I was able to stop at 9 months because I had enough frozen, and my period came a month later.

Yep, the prolactin made by your body suppresses ovulation (assuming the level is high enough).
