I have something similar on my pump. I have a hospital grade Symphony. The top opens up and they cover the these metal round things where the tubing plugs into. They move up and down, like a lung , while pumping. I am sure that is clear as mud now.
Yeah, I think the peices in the first picture go with a hospital style pump, and the pump you have doesn't need them. They can plug into the end of your tubing if you had that style pump.
Try replacing the white membranes I you're using the symphony. Of you're using PiSA I have no clue.

Thanks ladies!! On a side no Im having a totally newfound optimism about pumping/breast feeding. I think the one I git brand new was a piece of crap so I have to call to get it replaced. I went from getting 1/2 oz out of waxh breast on average to 3 oz each breast every 3 hrs!
