Alright ladies, it's almost been a full year since delivery! If you could go back in time and give yourself advice/and or a message what would you say?
"Listen to your gut" because ive realized that as mommies, we have this instinct that we feel when it comes to our LOs. Sometimes a friend or pediatrician will advise us one way but we dont feel quite right about it. Even though we didnt.feel right about it we took the advice and things went bad and thats when we realize "no wonder I had that feeling"!
In my opinion, as mothers, I think we should listen to what our gut tells us when it comes to making big or important decisions for our LOs!
I agree with listen to your gut and trust yourself. Also, never say never. There are things that I said I would never do, then LO arrived and I changed my tune.
I probably wouldn't go back in time given the chance. Not only would my actions back in time possibly alter the present, time travel itself seems really risky. What if I never return to the present? Are these machines safe? Also, I might freak out my past pre-baby self just by my presence!

When you doubt yourself or are exhausted give yourself a break. You are doing a great job. Try and step back and not let those times get you down because it flies by very quickly and soon enough you will be missing those "tiny" baby days.
Also, it is easier to be tired with a baby who is a couple of months old then it is with one who is now walking and trying to climb on EVERYTHING, especially the dog.

I would tell myself not to get caught up in reading so many books about how to do things the "right way." Being informed is good but I would tell myself not to feel pressured to subscribe to one way of thinking. I'm learning that there is not one "right way" to do things and I just have to do what works for me and my baby - and the reality is that once I find something that works, inevitably, things will change and I'll have to figure out something different! Just go with it and enjoy it!
I would probably have switched careers earlier or pushed myself to finish the classes that I wanted to. Ah and I would've told myself to enjoy every dollar I spent because one day those dollars won't be there to carelessly throw away!
I wouldn't have put so much pressure on myself to try to have a natural birth. I had a 30 hour labor and waited 20 hours before I got the epidural. It was brutal. I wish I could go back in time and tell myself to take the drugs! Also to start sleep training earlier.
I would tell myself to take the maximum amount of mat leave possible.....I probably would have ended up leaving the job anyway but if I had taken a longer mat leave, there would have been fewer months in 2013 that I would have had to pay for our health insurance through COBRA.
Other than that, there's not much I would have changed......other than boot my happy butt outside more while it was warmer.

Of course, I would also stop and take a nap before I had to go back to the future....
Agree with a PP - Never say never. Also, don't judge other moms until you are in their shoes.
Oh, and enjoy the easy trips to Walgreens or the grocery store or even the mall. Those days are long gone.
