EP- bottle oz

I know this question is always asked but I need some advice. My LO is 5 months old and I EP. He is getting 4 oz bottles and I EP and he still is eating about every 2 hours during the day ( STTN for about 8 hours with no bottles). On an average day he has 8 4 oz bottles so about 32 oz. I have read average is 25-30 so he is already on the higher end. I've also heard with BF they usually don't need more than 4-5 oz per bottle. My issue is he still always seems hungry and I thought by this age he would be spacing out his feedings more like every 4 hours or so instead of every 2. It was got me wondering if maybe my milk isn't fatty enough to fill him up. Is this possible and any suggestions?

Re: EP- bottle oz

  • I EP as well and I think we might be in a growth spurt but my LO can take up to 40 oz in 24 hrs but typically around 32.. She's still a little thing, almost 13 lbs and about 4 1/2 months. We just feed on demand

My LO is going on 8 weeks and may be in a growth spurt. He has been consuming about 30 oz a day. Our pediatrician recommended increasing the amount in our bottles due to the fact he always seems kind of hungry. Because of this, I have now had to supplement with formula, which sucks and I hope it is short term, but I do admit he seems more content. It couldn't hurt to try to increase.
