What to pack/wear home

Sorry if this has been asked, tried looking for an answer.

I know I need to consider the incision, was going to just wear maternity leggings home, but now I think the waistband may be too low. My cousin said she wore sweatpants in a larger size and she tied them higher on her stomach.

While in the hospital I just plan on wearing hospital gown and nightgowns/PJs - but again, PJ pants, I'm trying to figure out if I should buy larger size so I can pull them up higher?

Sorry, I'm a FTM and have twin boys on the way. Maybe I'm overthinking my clothes, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Thanks in advance :)

I had an emergency c/s so I hadn't thought about the clothes and you're definitely right in thinking about them because it matters so much! I arrived in maternity pants but they were not nice after the surgery.

I wore normal PJs but up to my belly button, I also sent DH to buy granny underwear up to my belly button too, you won't want anything to touch the incision area. A MUST is buying a post c/s corset or support belt. I didn't have it the first few days and when I received it my life changed. Recovery was so much easier because it keeps everything in its place and it doesn't hurt when you walk.

I got this one, but I am sure anything that covers the incision zone will do.

Good luck! I hope your recovery goes smoothly! :)

Re: What to pack/wear home

  • A dress would be ideal... But NY is freezing! Thanks ladies!
  • Thanks all. Going to try for
Comfy yoga pants or sweats that I can tie up high.
Already have granny panties ready & packed.
Like I said a dress would be so much easier, but that's not happening in Ny in March.
