Shouldn't have watched the pilot..

...of Parenthood right before bed.

I knew they had a kid on the spectrum on it, which I was fine seeing, it was the mom having to tell the dad that a doc dropped the A-bomb that got me. And the telling the grandparents, too. Some of the hardest days I have ever faced came flooding back at me...

    That line and the "something is 'wrong' with our son" part got me bad...especially bc, like that mom, I was alone at the A-bomb appt with DS and had to tell DH when he got home that afternoon. The telling the grandfather scene got me, too. Have had similar reactions...from the "just make him do it" to it hitting the grandparents like a truck.

    I tried watching this show last summer, I think, before my son got his diagnosis.  I didn't even finish watching the pilot because of this.  I'm still not ready to watch shows/movies about this.
