Pass the Coffee!

DH has been out of town for work since Wed AM (In Puerto Rico no less, and it was 11 degrees here yesterday morning). Thankfully he gets back today. My daughter will be 8 months on Monday and the last week we've hit a snag with sleep at night (again). First I thought it was the broccoli I gave her for dinner causing gas pains which made her make up Mon and Tues night. But it's been every night now. Sometimes she can get herself back to sleep, sometimes I have to soothe her. Last night was the worst. Up at 9:30-10, 12:30-1:30 and 4:30-5 (fed). She's recently started babbling a lot, making a lot of new sounds, and trying to crawl (her preferred method of transportation is rolling). So I know it could be developmental. Just wondering if anyone else has gone through this. Or knows where I can get a coffee IV.

If I remember correctly, there's a big sleep regression around that time due to all the gross motor skill development. Their little brains can't take all that crawling/ pulling up business! One of my boys really struggled and one didn't have as much of an issue. I feel like it lasted a couple of weeks until he mastered the new skill. Of course, it doesn't help that teething is pretty hard core at that point :-(. And, it sucks that DH is out of town! Hoping you find that coffee IV soon. I'd like to know where to get some.

Like Ruthie said, I remember that being a really rough time at our house too. This too shall pass. It might w a good time to do some studying in sleep training methods, if you haven't already. Even if you don't believe in CIO, I highly recommend Ferber's book just for information on sleep, patterns, associations, etc.
GL. I hope it passes soon and you get some rest as soon as YH gets home. Don't be afraid to let other crap slide, and just focus on you and LO. Take it easy, you'll make it.

Thanks ladies - normally, she's a solid sleeper at night and we've been doing a LOT of work on naps with a lot more success recently. As soon as I finished typing this out she did 4 or 5 "steps" of army crawling. So, she's very clearly working on that. And now that I've had a nap I seem to remember the same thing when she was learning to roll. DH is supposed to be home tonight - though his flight keeps getting delayed. Good thing a dirty bathroom and folding the laundry can wait till he arrives

DS did this a lot the first year, right before/during new milestones. And I hear you on the husband being out of town. Something crazy ALWAYS happens when MH is traveling (which is a lot). I hope it gets better soooooon!
