Babies: 3 - 6 Months

short vacation w/o baby

So, my husband just surprised me with an offer to take a trip in May or June--depending on the schedule of whoever I'd travel with--for a few days.  The backstory: he'll be gone for a week with his brother (who is in the Navy) in August and I'll be staying home because taking the baby doesn't seem feasible for a number of reasons.  I think he feels guilty and wants to make sure I get time to myself, time to recharge, etc.  Anyway, he has free plane tickets and says I can should see if my sister or a friend wants to go for the weekend.

My baby will be 4 - 5 months old at the time.  I'd be gone for 3.5 days.  She takes a bottle really well, as I do half-breast, half-formula.  I also pump.  Baby is very good with others watching her, at least so far.  My husband is totally competent and my mother-in-law lives next door, and two other family members (also young moms) live only blocks away.  However, my own mother just chewed me out at the mere thought of going anywhere without my baby.  Sidenote, my mom is difficult.  So I am torn and confused.  Traveling with baby isn't feasible.  Is it so wrong to take some me-time?
