Ideal Lining

Hi ladies. 

What is considered ideal lining thickness? Last cycle my RE said it was a bit low at 6.9. Just curious.

    Most docs want it to be at least 8mm. Good luck on your next cycle!

    June 2013: Start IF testing
    Me: Bloodwork and ultrasound all normal. Normal cycles and ovulation
    Me: HSG Sept. 2013 All clear
    DH: High viscosity, lowish numbers, but not horrible. First SA, count was 40 mill, second SA, count jumped to 80 mill. low morph. Tried mucinex for viscosity issue from June- Nov.

    Dec 2013: Clomid 50mg + Trigger + IUI #1 = BFN
    ^^ 5 mature follicles all over 20mm, lining was at 7. Post wash had low numbers

    Jan 2014: Clomid 50mg + Trigger + IUI #2 = BFN
    ^^2 mature follies on each side, lining was only at 5.5. Great sperm sample post wash

    Feb 2014: 2.5 mg of Femara + Trigger + IUI #3 on Valentine's Day! = BFN
    ^^ 3 mature follicles on right side 25mm, 24mm and 21mm, Lining at 10mm!!!!!! HUGE improvement

    March 2014: 2.5mg Femara + Follitism + Trigger + IUI = BFN
    ^^ 1 (possibly 2) follies, 9mm lining

    My RE likes to see it 8mm or higher. It can still thicken depending where you are on your cycle, good luck!

    Mine was also in the 6 range while on clomid, Dr said it was the low end of normal. I was on femera last month and it jumped to over 9 which she said was perfect. 
    Me: 40, Hypothyroidism, well managed, TSH 1.99
    DH: 44 Fine except for low morphology
    TTC since 02/2013  
    08/13: Day 3 tests (ESTRADIOL 20.8; AMH 1.1; FSH 6.2)
    12/13 HSG, all clear
    11/13-5/14 - IUIs #1-3, BFNs, 
    6/14 to present: Taking a break, getting healthier, researching IVF
    Planning for IVF in late summer 2015

    Thanks for asking this @jenkellen! I was just wondering the same thing

    4 Losses (2003, 2008, Apr 2012, & Oct 2012)
    All RPL and IF testing with multiple REs = normal

    5 IUIs = BFN

    All AL are welcome

    To piggyback off your question....Does anyone know how quickly your lining thickens? I know they say follicles can grow as much as 2mm per day, but how much can your lining grow in a day?

    Mine was 7.22 on Wednesday and I am going back tomorrow to see if I'm ready to trigger on Saturday. The NP said since I was on CD13, but not ready to trigger with my biggest follie at 13, that my lining looked really great for being on Clomid. She said that she thinks it will be over 9mm tomorrow, which is the target.
    10/2013 - Initial consult. Started levothyroxine - tsh 2.92
    HSG- showed graying in one spot/Saline Sono- showed 5mm polyp
    DH SA -  abnormal -  36%motility on both SA's (count and morph ok on SA1, a little off SA2)
    1/10/14 - Hysteroscopy to remove 5mm polyp
    1/12/14- Medicated Cycle 1: 50mg Clomid + Ovidrel + TI = BFN
    2/15/14 - Medicated Cycle 2: 100mg Clomid + Ovidrel + TI = BFN
    3/18/14 - IUI Cycle 1: 150mg Clomid + Ovidrel + IUI = BFN
    Upped Levothyroxine to 50mg - tested at 2.62
    4/17/14 - IUI Cycle 2: 150mg Clomid + Ovidrel + IUI = BFN
    Break!
    6/21/14: IUI Cycle 3: 150mg Clomid + Ovidrel + IUI

    This is great information! Thanks everyone. I'm being switched to Letrozole this cycle to help my lining. We'll see how it goes!

    I'm on letrozole and have done 4 cycles. My lining ranges from 5-8 and my doctors are not concerned. They keep mentioning that it may be on the thinner side but it has the three layers necessary to sustain pregnancy. Just waiting to get the bfp. Best of luck to you.
