Fussiness after vaccines?

I am sure this has been talked about before but I couldn't find it with a search. How long was your LO fussy after 2 month vaccines? DS had his on Tuesday afternoon and has been really out of sorts yesterday and today. Oddly he was fine the day of and the day after but for the last 48 hours he has been crying way more than usual. He doesn't have a fever and his legs are not swollen around the shot sites. I have called the pedi but would love some anecdotal reassurance that this is normal.

Re: Fussiness after vaccines?

  • A lot of the moms here have also experienced a 9-weekish GS that had a bunch of hungry, fussy babies. Could be a combination of the two...

I'm glad you asked this, OP. LO just had his this morning. DH is out of town at drill this wkend so I'm on pins and needles waiting for the ish to hit the fan since I'm flying solo this wkend. Fingers crossed the fussiness is minimal!

    Hope your LO feels better!!

Eta I can't type on this damn phone.
  • Glad you posted, OP. LO got hers this morning too. DH has been sick so he won't be any help the next few days... I need a coffee IV.
  • Did you give him a little Tylenol? Pedi told me to give my LO a little infant Tylenol until the symptoms went away. My LO seemed to be affected for at least 5 days after the shots.

  • Thanks for the responses. I talked to the pedi on the phone and she said she thought it was just a coincidental reaction to something that I ate. DS seems to have some severe food sensitivities and has had GI symptoms the last couple of days as well. I am sure hoping this passes quickly. I hate seeming him suffer.

    Yeah same here
  • Mine had his shots this morning and he's been pretty sleepy, no fussing.
  • Mine had his this morning and is either screaming or sleeping. Poor little things.

  • LO spent the morning whimpering, crying, nursing and sleeping. This afternoon (after a long nap) he was happy baby, but about 7pm, he got a low grade fever and got fussy again. Fingers crossed he is better tommorow!!,
  • Yes! Mine got shots on Tuesday also and has been cranky and not sleeping well the past couple days. She never got feverish. I hope it gets better, I hate seeing her so upset and I'd like for everyone to get some good sleep!
  • Mine had his shots this morning and he's been pretty sleepy, no fussing.

I will revise this. Ended up with a 100.6 fever that broke pretty quickly. He slept great last night and has been pissed off all day today. Incredibly difficult to console him.
  • My little guy broke out in spots all over his chest, lasted a few days then we had the growth spurt. Was a fun week. Not looking forward to the next shots

Haden was more fussy for 48-72 hours. He had them on a Thursday afternoon and by that Sunday he was basically back to normal.

This is how Levi was. Just when I thought we were in the clear he became super fussy for a few days.

Revision again. Day 3 of fussiness and from 8am to 8pm he took a couple tiny cat naps and one longer 1 hour nap...that's it. I really hope he's back to his relative "normal" tomorrow.
