So, I know they say that breastfed babies may go several days or even a week without pooping. The thing is, DS has not done this before, so I'm wondering if this is something that happens at a particular age?
He is almost 5 months, gets BF when I am home and expressed BM in bottles while I am working. We recently introduced a tiny bit of solid, oatmeal mixed w/ BM, but really only to try it. He has about 1/8 cup or less, and not every day.
He hasn't pooped in 48 hours, which has never happened before. I am wondering about a growth spurt, b/c today he drank over 30 ounces in 12 hours.
Any thoughts?

This exact same thing happened to us...at 5 months she stopped going 2-3 times a day and now goes every 2-3 days...doctor said it's nbd and she's not constipated or dehydrated...I guess their bodies are just changing?
Be ready for a huge assplosion when it does come!!
Does he act constipated? Or just acting totally normal? If he's acting normal and doesn't seem in pain or straining I wouldn't worry.
He seems pretty normal. Last night he was very playful, legs kicking, rolling around, didn't seem like his tummy was bothering him. I pushed on his belly a little, it doesn't seem tender at all.

Our LO just turned 4 months, he was going poo multiple times a day and then all of a sudden he was only going once per month. Our pedi said it's not the frequency its the consistency that you should look for. As long as its still moist and mushy as opposed to hard and dry, and LO doesn't seem to be bothered by it, ur good. But when they go, holy poopy diaper!!
