Compassionate Care

I'm not on here a lot but right now we're in our first month actively with the RE for TTC#2.

DH and I had applied for Compassionate Care (to get meds for discount/free) when TTC#1 and were denied based on income guidelines.

Two weeks ago we went to see the RE for a protocol appointment for this cycle and the nurse at the time told us not to bother applying again if we had been denied before.  But on Tuesday this week one of my favorite RE nurses called to schedule my baseline and told me that's not right, I needed to apply again, that their income guidelines have changed.  Well in the mean time we already paid for four boxes of Gonal-f, but I sent in the application anyways.

We were approved!  We'll receive a 75% discount on future orders of Gonal-f.  This has been such a burden lifted off my shoulders and the pressure is no longer there that I felt just as late as this morning.  Our plan was to do one medicated cycle and that was it.  That was all the money we had set aside (we have about $3500 to work with for meds and appointments).  But if we can get the Gonal-f at such a cheaper rate, then I see us being able to do 2-3 cycles financially.

I just wanted to share in case anyone has applied in the past and were also denied, so that you know it might be worth a shot to try again!

It's a program through EMD Serono discounting medicines for IF.

Here's a link to learn more.  I'm so grateful it even exists.
