Anyone worried about when to take off their wedding rings? I know that there will come a point where my fingers will swell and I don't want my rings cut off. It crossed my mind and was curious if anyone had insight into when they had to take theirs off.

I had to stop wearing mine before 20 weeks. My fingers aren't always swollen but rings just got uncomfortable. I would just do what feels comfortable to you.

I consider myself lucky. I had my rings on until 38 weeks!!! my OB had me cut back on sodium at about 24 weeks, and that helped with swelling. I try to walk / be active for 30 min a day ad well.

I take my rings off when I take a shower so with DD, I kept them off when I couldn't put them on afterwards. Haven't had to do it this time yet but when I do I plan on getting a "fake"!

I was able to keep mine on for my whole first pregnancy. I would imagine that water and lowering salt would help.

DH bought me a $30 fake on Amazon and I've been wearing it since the end of the first trimester. I'm not super swollen, but my wedding band and engagement ring were already getting a bit uncomfortable!

I eat a low sodium diet (even when not pregnant) due to Menieres Disease. It is really important that I try to keep the swelling down now since I can't take my diuretic. Still, I know I might not be able to keep them on the whole pregnancy. I take them off every night at bed. I move a lot and if I roll on my arm it is quite uncomfortable to have them on. After I am up for a bit each morning I put them on. I have a chain ready so that I can wear them as a necklace for the days that my ring finger isn't going to work.

Oh geeze, I hadn't even thought about this yet! Mine are still fitting the same, and are actually a little loose because of the cold weather. Based on what you ladies are saying I guess I should cut back on the salt and chug even more water! Most of my friends have been able to keep them on the whole time, so FX!

I stopped wearing mine around 20 weeks. My fingers would swell a little, mostly int he evenings and they got uncomfortable. DH also just bought me a really nice new wedding band ( I had a cheapo stand in at our wedding and we never got around to getting a real one) and he didn't want me to have to get it cut off so he convinced me to stop wearing them.

Mine are still fitting fine so far. My friend actually just had hers resized so they were bigger and fit..not sure what Ill do yet.

to be quite honest, when i went for my ER and to go in with no jewelry i took the rings off. that was about 3 months ago. they havent been back on my finger since

lol they still fit i just havent worn them and usually i only wear my wedding band because the engagement ring is big and i dont want it to get scratched up from daily chores. im surprised DH hasnt noticed yet lol

Mine have been off for awhile. Just keep taking them off/on periodically... when you start struggling to put them back on it may be time to take 'em off

I thought I'd get a cheapo set but haven't so far. I am also noticeably pregnant and have only gotten smiles, no side-eyes, from people who see me.

Mine are still fitting.....it's early. LOL With the cold, they sometimes twirl around my fingers but I know when it gets hot or I eat too much salt, they have a tendency to get tight. Weight gain too....just don't want to get them cut off as we had our rings inscribed.

Hoping for the best and drinking water like it's going out of style!

I don't sleep in my rings, so I think that helps.

But, I'm 37 weeks today, and for the past 3 days I can only wear my wedding band. I normally wear wedding, engagement, and anniversary band.
But, I know I haven't been drinking enough water the past couple of days, and it's been in the 80's in Texas, but I will be having our baby on the 11th, and I hope I can at least still wear my wedding band!

I'm 30 weeks with twins and still wearing mine just fine. A couple of weeks ago, I started having some minor swelling in my hands at night and had to take off my grandmother's ring on my right hand, but my wedding rings are still fine (for now!) I'm also pretty chubby already - I'm 5'9" and with these twins I weigh almost 230 lbs, but my ring size is still a dainty 7. So, who knows? When they get tight, you'll know. Just grab the lotion and wiggle them off.

I had to take mine off a few weeks ago. I was having dry skin issues under my bands and on top of that I was having swelling issues. So...figured it was better to just take them off before it became a big problem.

I took mine off a few weeks ago. They still fit but I sleep with them on and never really take them off so I was getting nervous that I would forget and have to get them cut off later! Some days they felt tight, some loose so while I was thinking of it, I put them away.

Even when not pregnant I rarely wear mine- I had issues with getting a rash on my fingers because all the hand gel at work would get stuck under the bands- and besides that, I just really don't like wearing rings. Fortunately H has gotten used to the fact that my hands are almost always bare unless we are going out somewhere.

I'd say keep up with your water intake and make sure you take them off at least once a day- if they seem really tight going on or off maybe stop wearing them then?

I had to stop wearing mine about 18-19 weeks. I've been struggling with swelling, and the carpal tunnel in my hands has made my fingers swell quite a bit (I wear a 5 3/4 ring size, so I have tiny hands to begin with!). Once I couldn't wear them anymore, I took them in to the jeweler and had the white gold redipped and all the scratches buffed out, and new prongs put on (since my rings are over 8 years old) - so I'll have brand-new looking rings to wear after the babies come!
