If you pack your preschoolers lunch...

Is it always sandwiches? When DS was in 3 year old preK, they put their lunches in a fridge and had a microwave to hear things. This week they moved DS up to the 4 year old room and they keep their lunches in their locker. Even with an ice pack I'm weirded out about what to pack. Also, more often than not I pack him our dinner leftovers from the night before and I'm worried it might be gross unheated.

Talk to me about your kids lunch!

    I can't help much. They heat the lunch at his current daycare. I like the thermos idea!

    Ugh. I'm the worst morning person and I like doing everything the night before, which is why I've never heated food in thermos the morning of. Also DS lunch bag isn't set up like that... Guess it's time it invest in a new one!

    That's what I said Em! Eer @willienelsonsgardener apparently is a "big boy/girl" thing and part if their day is going to get their lunch. I dunno. That's just how it's set up & the first day we went to 4y room, I wasn't aware of this & asked to use fridge because I didn't want his yogurt to spoil.... OMG, Eli was so sad. Like why did I ruin his life by making him use the 3 year old fridge

    Here is a tip someone gave me... If you fill a thermos with boiling water before putting hot food into it, it helps the food stay hotter longer! We do sandwiches, pita chips and hummus, chicken nuggets (ketchup on side), Mac and cheese, pasta, chicken noodle soup, yogurt... I always pack a fruit, a "snack" (cookie, veggie stick, etc) and an organic milk box. Cold foods get an ice pack, hot foods go in the thermos
