SO pissed

I was standing in the operating room today (in the ONLY place I could stand, which was unfortunately in front of a swinging door) and this older nurse walked out of the room through that door. She came back through that door 15 seconds later and slammed me in the back with it. I almost got knocked over. And then she had the balls to yell at me for standing in the only available spot in the room, even though nobody is supposed to use that door anyway. I wanted to punch her, but instead of doing that or screaming at her, I just kept my mouth shut. She obviously doesn't know I'm pregnant. Now I have a hideous bruise all the way up my back. Anybody else have any similar trauma during early pregnancy? I'm probably being paranoid, but I'm afraid I'll miscarry...

Re: SO pissed

  • That's awful! I'm so sorry. :( I would be so upset and would want to report it/ take photos of that bruise. There's no excuse for such behavior and no one should have to deal with that kind of treatment at work.

  • Every story and pregnancy is different but at 5w, your little babe should be nice and snug.  My brother's Boston Terrier used my belly as a launch-pad when I was preg with my son and we were all safe.

  • I am really sorry to hear that happened to you. What a royal bitch!

I fell down the stairs and sprained my ankle last week. Hoping it heals before I put on too much baby weight. I have my first appointment with my doctor on Monday, so I will bring it up then.

  • Pregnant or not, no one should do anything to cause bruises to a co-worker.  I would report the incident.  Maybe she was having a bad day but there is no excuse for assaulting a person (especially if she knew you were standing there).

    I hope you heal quickly.

  • I fell down the stairs a couple times and bruised my back pretty good DD1 is here to tell the tale. I also got rolled in the ocean pretty hard when I was 9 weeks pregnant and was ok. But if ever in doubt def call the doc. Peace of mind is priceless.

  • At 10 weeks pregnant with my son, I was working as a mental health crisis counselor and was kicked full force in my lower belly by a male client. I panicked! The doctor reassured me that baby was safety tucked behind my pelvic bone at 10 weeks and not to worry. Everything was fine.
