Ds is 14 months old and has figured out how to gag himself with his fingers. He thinks it's funny ha ha but now it's getting to the point where he does it and throws up. Idk how to correct this other than telling him no we don't put our fingers in our mouth. But no luck so far. He esp likes to do it while were driving in the car,& it scares me Bc I think he's choking but he's not... Help please
Re: Gagging
Our DD is 13 months and has been sticking her fingers in the back of her mouth and causing herself to occasionally throw up this week. After racking our brains wondering if its food, milk of still remnants of a stomach bug from last week we are thinking she is doing it because her molars are trying to come in. She recovered after the stomach bug and was fine until Tues and Wed this week at the sitters and the sitter noticed after she got sick she was sticking those fingers way back in her mouth and chewing.
I know this is not going to be a popular possible solution but at home we keep her paci within reach and she puts it in her mouth when she wants (not all the time but has the option). She is not gagging herself with her fingers at home, only at the sitters where her paci is not where she can get it when she wants. Our trial solution is to keep the paci attached to her at the sitters and if it is her molars we are hoping after they come in she won’t be sticking her fingers way back in her mouth to chew on them. Not sure sure if your DS could be doing it because his molars are trying to come in and he also wants something to chew on? Interested in hearing any other Momma’s seeing a similar issue and their thoughts. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
