Has anyone tried flats on a real live NB? Did you like them, or were they super bulky? I am tempted to go the flat route b/c they seem like they'd last through a lot of growth spurts. On the other hand, I donated 75 IQ points to DS when he was born and expect to be functioning at the level of a head of cabbage after the next LO is born. Sure, I can do a diaper bag fold now, but is it realistic to think I'll still have this ability by August?? Okay, but in all honest, I really want to know if anyone likes or hates flats on NBs.
LOL - No, well, kind of about the folding. Mostly I wonder about the bulk. I always feel like DS's flats are one false move from poking out the leg of his cover, no matter how narrow I try to fold them in the crotch. And I can't even imagine trying to fold the ones I use on him small enough for a NB. I'm going to have to do some measuring of what I have before I order any for a NB, I guess.
If you go to the flats page on the GMD website, you can link to their "see this on a baby" page. There is a newborn example at the bottom of the page, as well as another link to another page with another newborn example.
I started using flats at a little over a month, but pretty much still newborn size (maybe 8lbs) They were one of the trimmest diapers I had at that point. I also used the NB kite fold and jelly rolled the legs.
Re: Flats and the NB
And now this is stuck in my head:
