My sister's suspicious mole that she ignored forever, that unfortunately turned out to be melanoma has NOT spread to lymph nodes. I repeat has NOT spread. This is a freaking miracle. My heart is light!

She gets the mole removed next week, which will be rough because it is large and will require a section of her hair shaved off and a possible skin graft, but she will be ok.

We'll all be practicing sun safety from now on and I'm going to get checked myself. Lesson learned!

I shudder to think of the summers during high school when my friends and I would lay out in the sun for upwards of eight hours a day on the raft in the lake. My chest is a freckled mess of sun damage now.

ETA: We never used sun block, only tan accelerator.

My sister did this too, but we also have genetics working against us. I think freckles are cute, just watch for any changes Becc.
