Finally getting to Legal Aid tomorrow. Anything you all suggest I bring up? Hoping manchild ends up just not showing for court in the future so I get whatever I ask for...which is why I want to make sure I'm thorough. Life insurance? Medical? Dental? Ortho?

Make sure you address taxes, too. Oh, and I don't know what your visitation plans are right now, but make sure you ask about other people around your child. We currently have an agreement that no new relationships be brought around the children. After the divorce, we have agreed to a six month wait before introducing a girlfriend/boyfriend and they have to be introduced to the other parent first.

Thanks all. Here's the update:

Atty wants to take my case, but has to get supervisor's approval. I will know next week for certain. Please say lots of prayers on this.

She suggested I file the PPW for custody, visitation, and CS ASAP. I didn't realize CS starts from the day I file, not the day she's born. So, I have an appointment tomorrow at 8:30am at the courthouse to file everything.

We are going to ask for sole physical and sole legal. *IF* he shows up in court and challenges it, we are going to compromise with sole physical and joint legal with me having final say. I didn't even know that was an option but she said she just did that for someone else recently.

I told her I was not okay with the "going to Florida for two weeks every 2 months when she's a year plus" thing and said I would compromise with when she's 3 years old. She said that sounded fair.

I'm hoping he just doesn't show and everything I ask for will be granted. I'm doubtful he will send his attorney (not sure if he is allowed to) bc of the $$$ but nothing he does makes sense so...we'll see.

Huge weight lifted now that I've finally been able to see someone legally and get this ball rolling. Sucks I had to wait so long but it is what it is. Just praying and crossing every finger and every toe her supervisor lets her take my case.

Oh and all the details will be worked out after I file the initial PPW.

Lady told me today to expect a court date in FIVE MONTHS. Attorney's said 2-3 months. CRAZY.
