Tubing during pregnancy??

My SIL is celebrating her 30th birthday this weekend in the mountains. The plan is tubing, hot springs and a gondola ride.
I'm okay to monitor myself in the hot springs to make sure I don't over heat, and the gondola is perfectly safe.
What I'm not 100% about is tubing. Not sure how safe this is or of there are ways to do it and be as safe as possible? Has anyone ever gone tubing while pregnant?
Thanks ladies!

Snow tubing in the mountains. Not sure how steep or busy the hill will be. Have never been mountain tubing before.
Edit to add: my SIL is pregnant too, due in august. Not sure how this influences things, but since she is pregnant and organized this, it should be safe, right?
  • Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to go tubing. Didn't, because it's not really my thing. But, honestly, I think it was perfectly safe. Tubes are pretty solid. That said, it was a simple tubing hill, one lane, one person at a time, and it was fairly slow because it was pretty warm that weekend. I would judge when you get there. Are there a lot of people on the hill at once? Are people colliding and crashing as kryptic said can happen? How fast is it? If there is any chance of collision, flipping, etc. I would probably skip it.

  • When I go snow tubing, I expect to come home with a bruised butt. I wouldn't do it pregnant.

  • I would not go snow tubing. We took my stepson last year and the place we went to had designated hills and you got dragged up on the tube, but there were still lots of bumps and it got going pretty fast and I had little to no control over that. I just wouldn't feel comfortable, personally. That goes for sledding, too.

  • No to snow tubing. Even small hills can get pretty fast.

  • There was a recent spinal cord injury at our local tubing spot so I would vote no.
  • I would also say no.  My experience with tubing at a mountain was not a pleasant one.  It was at the end of the day so the run was icy mind you but none the less we picked up way too much speed and went flying off the edge and I ended up with ice burn on my face.  I think the only reason why I didn't break any bones was simply because I was drunk and bendy at the time.
