Bronch Update - We're home!

We are finally home. Bronchoscopy went well. The hardest thing ever was giving her a big kiss and handing her to the anesthesiologist. Zoe was looking over the anesthesiologist's shoulder looking at me sort of like where are they taking me mamma? She was smiling too. Broke my heart.

She's fine though. They did find what they suspected, which is hemangioma on her airway. They suspect that 3 weeks ago it may have been as much as 85% blockage but since she already had a dose of steroids it's now more like 60% blockage. She also has a lung infection. So they are upping our drugs and she's getting antibiotics. We'll probably have another bronch in 3 months to make sure it's still shrinking. And they asked us not to travel this weekend (we were going for a much needed short getaway to Florida -this winter has been brutal).

Sorry about your weekend plans, and that she may have to repeat the procedure in a few months though. I hope she responds well to her medications and that you guys are able to get some rest!

Maybe you could do a mini getaway to somewhere nearby? Cozy up in a hotel with a fire place, some wine, a good movie and book? Glad there had been some improvement and the procedure went smoothly and hopefully her condition continues to improve as anticipated.
