Heated Blanets?

I know this may be a silly question but it's been 3 years since my first child and I can't remember. I know you're not suppose to use heating pads, but would it be ok if I snuggled with my heated blanket? Thanks in advance :)

It's probably fine to snuggle (aka be awake) with one for awhile but definitely don't sleep with one or take it off if you find yourself falling asleep. I once woke up with an honest to god fever because I had slept under a too-hot electric blanket all night.

Last time I was pregnant, I was told not to use one. I would ask a doctor first.

Why can't you use a heating pad? I've never heard this before and was planning on using one later tonight on my lower back.

I've been wondering this, but avoiding mine to err on the side of caution. It's been freezing here, though, and I'm dying without it!

Me and my heating pad were great friends when I was pregnant with DD and in the 3rd tri and my back was killing me. I see absolutely no reason why you would not be allowed to use a heating pad or a heated blanket.

I was told my electric blanket was fine as long as I wasn't burning myself.  I turn it on high to heat the bed before I get into it, then I turn it on low to sleep.  It turns off after two hours, so I haven't been that worried about it.  I didn't ask about heating pads though.

I thought I read somewhere that heating pads are fine just as long as you don't place them directly on your abdomen or on an insanely high heat setting.

    This exactly.
