Ok, I finally had to hide this book for the rest of the night. I think I've read it to DD 20 times today! Anyone else's LO have an absolute favorite book? Always looking to add to our "library"
Oooo snuggle puppy of mine everything about you is especially fine!!!!! Lol. DD got a valentines book that plays music and I am ready to throw it in the trash. It's so annoying. We like all of Sandra Boyntin books.
The favorites of the moment are "Dear Zoo" and "Hop on Pop" - she'll go dig thru her book bin and come back with those two and a huge smile on her face
My DS loves the snuggle puppy book too... As soon as he hears me hum the toon that I use to sing the song he starts bopping his head!
We tend to go through phases. He'll be fixated on one book that I can read over and over and over for 3 months straight and then POOF one day, he doesn't want to hear it at all and we move onto something new! I have no idea what causes the change!
Some favorites have been the "That's not my"..... Monkey, lion etc books. He just loves "The Pout Pout Fish In the Big Big Dark". "Goodnight Moon" had a good run for a while. Last week we bought "The Very Busy Spider" and we've read it every night since it came home
"Brown Bear, Brown Bear" and " I dream of an elephant" get read daily. Oh and "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom". Currently though "Brown Bear Brown Bear" is top of the list, she loves making the sheep sound and her fish face lol. She danced with joy last week when "Brown Bear Brown Bear" was the theme of story time.
DS loves Rawr by Todd Doodler. I bought it from the book fair at daycare and it quickly became his favorite. He even makes little roar sounds when we read it. He also loves Little Blue Truck and any book that has flaps, pop-ups, etc.
Right now: Little Engine That Could. Past Favorites: Corduroy Hop on Pop Cat in the Hat One Fish, Two Fish Very Hungry Caterpillar Brown Bear, Brown Bear The Monster at the End of This Book
Mostly I swear kiddo is just trying to find the longest book he can to delay bedtime or nap.
Favorite book right now is Roadwork by Sally Sutton. We read it 2-3 times in a row at bedtime. The other favorite is Brown Bear Brown Bear (slide and find version).
Currently I still have trouble getting through a book without DS trying to rip it out of my hands and/or chew on it... Does this issue go away as they get a little older? I hope so, it can get quite frustrating!

DD is 15 months old, but up until about a month or two ago I would have to do a quick parapharse of the page before turning it or she'd get impatient and either get uninterested, or grab at it to play with or chew on. I'm surprised the length of books she's allowing me to read to her lately! It's nice having her just sit on my lap and engage in the book while I read. But of course there are times that she wants me to to move on to another book before I'm half done with the current one A lot of times she takes it and flips through "reading" aloud on her own. I love when she does that
The Llama Llama board books! My 19 mo old knows which is which and will bring it to us and say "Llama Zip!" Or "Llama Nighty Night!" It's so cute. Also a huge Sandra Boynton fan. "But Not the hippopotamus" is my personal fav!
My son really liked The Bunny Hop (Elmo/Sesame Street). We read that book a million times and had to replace the original boardbook. And Easter is coming up.
