S/O BF baby too big?

DS will be 6 months on Wednesday. Last week we did a weighted feeding he took in 5 oz. He weighed 19 lbs and 11 oz. He was 6 lb 11 oz when he was born and dropped to 5lb 5oz before he started gaining weight. He was about 16 lbs at his 4 month appointment. He is BF. We had avocado yesterday as our first solid. Is anyone else's LO still gaining a half pound a week? Can he be too big off BM alone? I'm sure my pedi will have something to say on Wednesday. I just wanted to see if we were the only ones.

    My lo is EBF and weighed 18lb 14oz at 4 month check-up. His growth has consistantly been in the upper percentiles and my dr said you can't overfeed a breastfed baby if you don't pump and use bottles.

    This makes me feel a lot better. Thank you ladies. I think I'm paranoid because he had weight issues starting at out. Thanks for putting my mind to ease.

    DD just turned 5 months and she is 20 lbs 4 oz. The pediatrician said she loves seeing chunky breastfed babies and didn't have a problem with it at all. She said if she was that weight and formally fed then she may look into cutting back but since she only gets breast milk she doesn't have a problem with her weight.

    Thank you ladies again for putting my mind to ease. DS had his appointment today and his Dr. Said that she loves big breastfeed babies! Yay! He was 97% all the way from 3% but she said that was great. Thanks again.
