My WTF appt, 2 years later... ;)

Hi ladies! I have been so crazy busy lately that I haven't been able to carve out bump time at all! DS turns one next Monday. Yowza! He can crawl, stand, and cruise, but hasn't taken off yet. His MSPI issues in his younger months have led to some issues getting him to eat solids now, but we're working through that. I went to the RE today to talk about cycling after school gets out in hopes of a #2. We didn't have any frozen, so I have to do a whole cycle. AF is due any day so I'm staring down day 3 bloodwork, plus off site blood work, plus a new HSG and mock transfer ... whee?? Being back in the clinic brought back so many memories, but it also made me remember that I've never worked with a nicer group of people in a doctor's office! This group of ladies really helped me mentally survive our journey to #1, so I'm doing my best to force myself to take some time and check in more often!! I have totally been stalking Bzeety and saw her happy news.

And, to refer to my title (Duh) I asked the RE "How come EVERYTHING went wrong during that cycle, and we still had a kid?" He doesn't know. All they can say is that they'll ICSI us on day 1 this time instead of risking the 0 fert report again & doing it rescue. Also said that he wants to stay on the same Brav/Meno protocol, but up my dosage a tad to get some more results.

Hi Jenny!!!! I remember you from when I had the complete fertilization failure & the rescue ISCI about a month or so after you. You were so nice with your answers and sharing your experience and made me feel so much better. I made my RE do a WTF appointment with me right after I was pregnant cause I wanted to know if there was ever a hope of having a second baby as there was so much wrong with IVF #1 & it made no sense we actually got pregnant. At that appointment he said yeah you only had about a 7% chance of it working & sometimes you are just on the right side of the odds. Today I am on day 8 of stims of operation brother/sister. Like you they will be doing ISCI immediately for us & possibly an assisted hatching as that's what they did last time. Also they have put me on max stims to see can they get more than 5 eggs. I have a feeling they won't but who knows! I haven't intro on this board, been posting on the infertility board but been lurking here the last few days & think it may be a fit for me. Hope to see you "around"!

Welcome back!!!! good luck with number 2. I am hoping to head back to the RE myself sometime this year... I imagine - like you said it is going to bring back an entire flood of emotions.

Yay, Deardra! So glad to hear all of that! I'll be waiting to hear how it all plays out. My RE said he could probably list the names of everyone who had a 0% fert rate that was a complete surprise, and that he could definitely remember each of the times that Rescue ICSI was a success, so I'm glad to be on the good side of the odds with you!
