Working Moms

Any other NP's or PA's here?

Just wondering if there are any other nurse practitioners or physician assistants here! Just saying hello!
I've been at a new clinic for about 6 months and love my new schedule. We get 8 hours a week for admin time which totally opens me up to take DD to appointments or getting things done around the house. I love it! It's my first time ever being offered admin time.

  • I am a NP. I work in the hospital, 4 ten hour days. My schedule works well with my life. I enjoy having one full day off during the week. It really helps with appointments.

I plan on taking off 4-5 months once my twins are born and then returning full time!

    Ella - 10/19/10
    Julia and Aubrey - 4/3/14

  • I'm an APN working in a community setting, which makes my work schedule flexible (I make my own schedule) - it's nice but I work full-time and wish I could go down to 4 days but it's not possible.
  • Jenn, I have twins on the way too!! I will be taking 4 months off when they come!
I am in primary care and also have a little surgical perdiem job (about 12hrs/month).

  • I'm an emergency med PA. Currently working 12's 11a-11p 3 days a week on average. A little nervous about what I will do for child care with this schedule:/. Love love love my company and my job. The husband is a firefighter so we won't need coverage all the time. Thinking we may need to hire a part time nanny? But also nervous I will want to be home in the evenings once I have the baby.

I'm an ER PA. I do 3 12's / week. I like what I do, I just don't like the hospital or how inflexible my schedule is. I am looking to change fields soon. I just don't know what i want to do!
