Cloth diapering and traveling

We'll be going out of town this weekend for either one or two nights to visit DH's grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

If you cd, do you cd while your gone or use disposables? If we stay two nights, we'd have to bring most of our stash which I see being a pain, but at the same time don't want to have to buy disposables. We wouldn't have to wash while gone.

    If it's that short of a period of time, I say go for it, taking your stash!  I never had a problem when it was just 2 nights, just had to do laundry right when I got home. Kept an eye on the stash in case I did need to buy sposies at the end of the trip if I was running out of clean ones, but fortunately never had that issue!

    If we traveled some place with laundry facilities (like the inlaws, where we go for a week at a time), I would take them. If there are no laundry facilities, I take disposables - or have them shipped ahead of  time. I don't like traveling with dirty diapers.

    We also use the Flip disposable inserts sometimes too if it is a quick trip like that.

    My post just assumed OP is driving to wherever she is going! Doesn't hurt to also take a trash bag (or two) to put your larger wetbag in w/ the dirties for the actual travel period, in case they are pretty smelly.  When travelling though I tried to make a habit of rinsing all of them when I could, even just the wet ones, so stink wasn't a huge issue.

    I would take them. I'd either wash there, or I use a hanging wetbag as my "diaper pail" anyway, so it would be simple enough to bring them home dirty.

    We've taken CD on every trip. We did a full 4 days and 3 nights trip back in October staying in hotels and took them. Since our stash is so big we just washed the night before we left and right when we got back. We didn't have any issues. Plus we often make several day trips to my parents and the ILs but we can wash there.

    I really hope this doesn't become a problem for us. We travel quite a bit throughout the year to see our relatives, we have a lake house in between where we all live that we meet up at. My BIL and SIL already side-eye us when we talked about CD'ing; my niece is 8mths old and they definitely do not get it, nor are even open to discussing it. Maybe they'll have a change of heart once they see us doing it successfully
