Redundancy

Hi, on the 7th jan I had a miscarriage. As I was off work I let my boss know. Lady week I found out that I am pregnant again (5weeks 3 days today).
Today I also found out that I am being made redundant, I am a teacher and even my colleagues cannot fathom why I would have the least number of points due to my experience, qualifications and extra contributions (we are an independent school).
Does this sound dubious?
Can I claim maternity pay when I leave in august?
Should I tell them I am pregnant (I wasn't planning to just yet!)?
Thank you
Jackie

Not sure if this is why you are asking if you should tell them you are pregnant, but that will not change you getting laid off.  It is not illegal to lay someone off when they are pregnant, it is only illegal to lay someone off because they are pregnant which is not the case since they do not even know you are.  And if you are being laid off you are not entitled to future maternity pay unless your company has some unusual policy that says you are entitled to it.

Are you hoping that if you tell them maybe you'll be able to guilt them in to not laying you off?  This just doesn't make sense to me.
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.
