Fellow migraine sufferers

I ordered migraine wellpatches and used my first one today.   My migraine is still there but it's more of a tolerable headache now than a migraine.  I thought I'd pass on the info since there's so few things we can take to help a migraine.  Of course make sure your doctor is ok with you using it, mine was.

Fioricet is one you can take and it's excellent my ob doctor told me it's safe for me to continue to take it since my neurologist always has had me take it and the best for pregnant women to take if you suffer from migraines. For me Fioricet has always knocked it out since I was suffering from them daily. Good luck!

  • Glad to hear both of these. Laying in bed with a migraine as I type! Boooo!!
  • I'm gonna swear by the Phenergan the midwife at my doc's office prescribed to me. Plus it helps with my nasty tummy troubles. Kill two birds with one stone. :)

  • My nurse practioner said only excedrin tension because it is just Tylenol and caffeine, literally. It has worked for me so far but so far I've been getting less migraines since pregnant :)

I've been told by more than one doctor, including my neurologist not to take excedrin migraine because it has aspirin in it which is a blood thinner. My neuro even told me to avoid it during the 2 week wait.

Oh I'm definitely not taking it on a regular basis for just a "headache." Only when I have been suffering from a full blown migraine for more than 12 hours and nothing else helps. Sorry, I should've explained a little more.

  • I've had chronic migraines for years (since 7th grade) and unfortunately not a whole lot works for me. My OB prescribed Fioricet and it seems to at least take the edge off and take the migraine down to just a bad or annoying headache, which I can handle.
