Cranky cranky baby...

LO is just about 5.5 months old and has been a total crank pot for 3 days now. She is usually a happy laughing baby and these past few days have been terrible she will hardly smile and just seems so cranky.... I'm hoping nothing is wrong and I don't have a gut feeling there is but I guess if she's not herself by Friday ill have her seen. She is just getting over a little bug with a cough and fever she had last weekend. Just wondering if anyone has delt with the 6 month growth spurt and how there LO reacted to it. Thanks!

Re: Cranky cranky baby...

  • Now that you say this.. I'm noticing a very cranky baby too the past couple days. She's 5.5 months.

  • It could be teeth. Try some tylonel and see if that helps. My daughter has two teeth already and she's five months old

  • I'm thinking its teeth and just being tired from not sleeping well... Since she had the fever last weekend and we were giving her Tylenol every 4 hours I was just trying to not give it too much this week but I guess if teething is what it is and it's going to help why not right??? We do teething tablets too though :)
  • We've had a few days like this too. DD has been super cranky and had a very hard time falling asleep each night. She also has been waking up in the MOTN which she hadn't done for a while. Of course she started this the week that DH is out of town for work.

  • Not yet on March 13th she will be...
  • E has been going through something the last week.  He's been crankier, fussier, and worst of all - not sleeping as well!  He actually woke up every half hour or so Saturday night.  Thank God it was the weekend.

I keep checking for teeth but nothing, even though he drools like crazy and tries to chew on everything possible.  I figure it's just one of those "wonder week/growth spurt/whatever" things.  He'll be 6 months on Monday.

  • My little one has been cranky the last couple of days. He had his 6 month appt today and he has an ear infection. Hope your LO is in a better mood tonight.
  • Colds can cause ear infections. This has happened to DD several times now, she'll get a little cold, start getting better, and then BAM: double ear infection. I agree with PP that it's probably just teething but if LO isn't better soon, I'd go in to get things checked out just in case
