Nausea 3 months post pregnancy...NOT pregnant

I have had nausea at night about twice a month since I had my girls 3 months ago. It is pretty severe b/c it wakes me up at night. I just try to lay there, and by morning, it is gone. I have thrown up only twice, but the nausea is there. I did not have morning sickness while I was pregnant, and there is no way I am pregnant again. Has anyone else had this or have any ideas of what could be causing it? I am back on BCP again and on month 2, but this was happening before I went back on them, and I am not currently pumping or breastfeeding. I am running to a meeting, but will check back later...sorry for the post and run. Thanks ladies!

I'm interested in the responses. The same thing happened to me for a bit. I chalked it up to the fact that I was bc pill hoping, breast feeding and very anemic post baby.

Did you have a lot of issues with heartburn/reflux during pregnancy?  For me this took a while to go away last time.  It is just a thought because it seems like you say it happens at night.  How about other times when you lay down?  It may be worth trying some tums or zantac before bed every night for a week or so and see if that makes a difference.  I hope it gets better!

I had something similar happen but I was breastfeeding & on the mini pill. I had nausea, vertigo, and vomiting to the point I needed an IV. It was always around 3 am with me...so possibly hormonal. They determined after a CT scan and tons of bloodwork I cannot use any progesterone only birth control methods. They did check me for viruses as well, as you are more vulnerable to get them after birth. Sorry I can't answer exactly for you, but have you seen a doctor?

I have had pp waves of nausea though not as much as you're describing. I haven't ever gone on the pill after being pregnant but there is def. a hormonal shift about 3-4 months pp. I've never noticed hair loss until that time too. The biggest pp nausea issue I've had is when I weaned my oldest. Still nursing #2 so curious to see how that goes, but if I didn't KNOW I wasn't pregnant when I weaned DD#1, I would have been peeing on a stick every day.

Thanks! Hormonal changes is all I can think of too. If it continues to happen, I will make a doctors appointment.

Yeah, I would give it a while and if it doesn't even out, see your Dr. I was supposed to follow up with mine if it didn't even out after DD#1 but a few weeks later is when I got KU with our 1st m/c so that messed everything up even more.
