Re: Ten Things Tuesday!!
1. 26 weeks today.
2. According to the Bump I have 98 days until my due date. That's crazytown.
3. I have my glucose test next week. Yuck. I am really dreading it.
4. Next Monday is my wife's birthday, and we are going to hang out with my mother-in-law this weekend to celebrate. Nothing crazy (last year I went a tad overboard for her 30th). So far we have a breakfast date with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, planning to catch a movie, then possibly some shopping at the outlets. I fear my wife wants to buy more baby clothes. Our daughter's wardrobe is already a bit out of control and we haven't even had our shower yet...
5. My bday is in 3 weeks. I will be the big 3-0 this year. Then the following week I will be 30 weeks pregnant. The theme for March will be the number 30 HAHA
6. At our appointment yesterday we had our first experience with the doppler (everything before that has been an ultrasound -- which I know is unusual). I was nervous that we wouldn't be able to find the HB right away, but we did, so that was reassuring. My next appointment is in 3 weeks, and my OB says that will be an u/s to see how the baby is positiioned and estimate size. After that I start having appointments every 2 weeks. Oh my!
7. OK, sorry everything I have said so far has been pregnancy related... let me try to shift gears...
8. The weather was really nice this past weekend, but it turned out to be a big tease. It was freezing here again this morning, and they are predicting snow showers tonight/tomorrow and possibly more snow on Saturday. Bummer.
9. I am starting to feel a bit bored/stuck/restless at my current job. I just feel like I have tackled most of the challenges here and the status quo leaves me feeling slightly "eh"... I know this is a good problem to have. I have a good job, with a company I am happy to work for, my co-workers are awesome, I am comfy here, the pay is pretty good... but honestly, I think I am just the type that always needs a new challenge to be happy. I am approaching my 5 yr mark here and that is a little crazy to think about (for me!). I am considering starting to look around for something new a few months after baby comes just to see what my options might be... which is a scary thought because I am about to be the sole breadwinner for our family and I really should just stick with the comfy job that is reliable and stable. I don't know...
10. I hope everyone has a nice Tuesday.
Me - 30, My wife - 31 , Together for 10 yrs - Married August 2012
5 medicated IUIs w/ RE (March - July 2013) = BFN
Fresh IVF Cycle in September 2013 resulted in 18 mature eggs, 16 fertilized, 12 made it to day 5. Transfer of 2 Grade A blastocysts on 9/15/13, and 10 embryos in the freezer! *****BFP on 9/25/13 - betas: @10dp5dt = 232; @12dp5dt = 465; @15dp5dt = 1,581 *********William George born June 4, 2014*********2. We are 5 weeks pregnant today. M has surpassed me in the amount of the pregnancy she has done. I'm referring to our silly decision that I will get to claim the first two weeks of the pregnancy while the eggs were in me (even though M was obviously preparing her uterus at that time). So I had 2 weeks, the incubator had 3 days, and now M has had 2 weeks and 4 days. I really hope that she outdoes me by 8.5 months!
3. I got up early this morning and took the dog to the park. I didn't want to because it's cold again here, but she needed it. Now she's sleeping. That feels very rewarding.
4. It feels surreal to be giving "BFP Mentioned" and "PAIF [pregnant after infertility] response" warnings on my posts on Third Party Reproduction and Infertility. I don't know if because of infertility brain it would feel this way through most or all of a pregnancy or if it is largely due to the fact that we feel so unsure about the stickiness of this pregnancy.
5. I'm super happy that so many of the TTC folks on this board are having things progress well-- @doodah1013 and @firstcomeslove2013 ovulated so they're less than two weeks from starting their next cycle! @goalieswife123 has a mature follicle and a well-timed trigger shot! @stacyLH24 has three mature follicles! @kboydbowman had the much-anticipated return of AF. @rkbo has great sperm numbers thsi month! @crazyaunt84 has insurance coverage! (Sorry about the BFN, though! Boo!)
Sending support to those dealing with BFNs and good vibes to those in the 2WW!
6. I made a healthy and nutritious and delicious dinner last night. I need to get in the habit of doing that more often. The stresses of the last week have left us eating a lot of take-out.
7. I've gotta head to campus soon to attend a talk. I didn't realize it had gotten so late.
8. I hate how long the commute it to my university. It takes 75-90 minutes by public transit and it's too expensive to pay for gas and parking to drive very often.
9. M and I really appreciate how supportive you all have been.
10. Is it tomorrow yet?
We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.
Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.
Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response
IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
1st ultrasound (3/6 6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.
***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***
FET #1 December 2014
2. I have a big job interview this afternoon. I am nervous/excited.
3. I regrew my beard... And I thought about shaving it today for the interview and then decided I would be makin that decision for someone else, not for me. So I didn't. I am proud of this decision.
4. I am listening to "DR Sleep" on audiobook. It is the sequel to "The Shinning" and so far is pretty effing amazing.
5. Not being able to run long distances because we are trying to get pregnant AND still not being pregnant is breaking my heart.
6. I spent the last hour looking at rocks and minerals under a UV light to see which ones are fluorescent to cheer myself up.
7. We are planning our camp garden and this summer we are adding a berry patch and a pumpkin tunnel... We are also going to add a potato container garden and a some straw bale beds.
8. A good friend of our's brother died suddenly this week. He was 32 and had schizophrenia. We are so sad for her and it reminded us how precious life can be. We are trying to hold that up.
9. I would like it to be spring now.
10. Our puppy (okay... He is 7... But still my baby) threw his back out last week and he has been so pitiful. Today he played with our niece, and it was so cute. They were running (albeit slowly) up and down the hall. It was heartwarming.
Baby Hayden Frances born 12/20/14 at 11:11 a.m... Our perfect little miracle. Here's how we got here:

1. 6 dpiui today. Before, I had an easier time with the beginning of the TWW. This time around it seems like the first several days were a little more tough. Now that I'm getting closer to being able to test, I'm more nervous than anything. I just want it to work so bad.
2. I haven't had any spotting so far, like I did last cycle. The nurse said that since I didn't use Ovidrel last cycle, the spotting was due to the crash of hormones. She said I shouldn't experience spotting when I go from Gonal-F to Ovidrel. So far, it seems that she was correct.
3. It seems like with three mature eggs and 100 million squirmy sperm that we could get at least one baby. I know that isn't always how it works though. I'm hoping still.
4. I'm starting to get concerned about our future of TTC. After the removal of my endometriosis, my RE said we had 6-12 months before we needed to worry about it again. We are at 4 months now. If this cycle doesn't work, I'm going to guess I will probably need to use Provera again to start my period, which will prolong my cycle. I'm worried about hitting that 6 month mark. If I need to have surgery again, I won't be able to until September as I don't have the time to take off of work again. I probably shouldn't be stressing about this as much as I am. My most recent period was very easy, indicating that hopefully returning endo isn't an issue yet.
5. I wish there was a way to know whether or not fertilization happened. I hate being hopeful for something that may not have even gotten to step 1.
6. I came home for lunch and now I don't want to leave. I'm headed for two home visits then back to work for an evening support group. C and I are both working late tonight.
7. We're leaving for Florida in a week and a half. I can't wait. I'm looking forward to relaxing on the beach. It will either be a good celebration time if we get a BFP or a nice distraction if we get a BFN.
8. I'm getting excited that Spring and warmer weather are around the corner. We are still blanketed in snow and cold temperatures, but it will change soon!
9. Our federal return got deposited today and I already have it spent. We decided that we would pay off two small store cards, put a decent chunk on our credit card and pay the homeowner's insurance for the entire year. I hate to see all that money go out, but at the same time, it cuts down on monthly bills.
10. I really just want to take a nap.
Me: 30 DW (aka C): 29
Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12
***CP mentioned***
We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm. 8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy. We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET. I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.
11/14/14 - Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.
12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2
12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)
1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2
****All Welcome!****
We are Mommas to four fur babies - 3 dogs and 1 cat.

2. @healz413, I hear you on the commute. Mine takes 75-90 each way on public transit too (the distance from home to office is about 9 miles). I drove to work when my foot was broken and it only took about 35 minutes each way, but parking by my office is at least $475 a month and I just can't justify it. It makes me sad that I will be spending less time with my child because of that, but I love my job and my home, so I'm kind of stuck.
3. @Jazibel, I am looking forward to seeing you on HHI!
4. @doodah1013 - I am sorry you're having a bad moment. I know how it feels, and I am sending a huge squishy hug.
5. The soup I made for lunch this week is delicious, but I really, really want a cheeseburger or a HUGE sandwich.
6. Still can't stop eating cereal. I think I am going to give birth to the Honey Nut Cheerios bee. Perhaps Jerry Seinfeld is my sperm donor?
7. Last night my wife put her face to my belly and said, "Hi, Baby. You are going to like sports." She is super athletic, but this baby has my super non-athletic genes. It is not clear how athletic our donor is. So I am a little worried he won't be good at them/into them and she will be disappointed. She likes to think it's more nurture than nature, and I hope she's right for both their sakes. Apparently she is starting early.
8. For some reason the sports he is/isn't allowed to play has been a hot topic of conversation in my family lately. My stepmother says no contact sports; my wife and I say no football or hockey; my dad wants him to play lacrosse; my sister asked if I would let him be a cheerleader (I said no, and it's not because he's a boy -- sorry any former cheerleaders out there!).
9. I just poured soup on my boobs.
10. And I will end on that.
9 IUIs = 9 BFNs
IVF October 2012: 22 eggs retrieved, 17 fertilized, 5 frozen
ET #1: 1 blast = BFP; Blighted ovum discovered at 7w5d; D&E

Karyotyping: normal ~ RPL Testing: normal ~ Hysteroscopy: normal
FET #2: 1 blast transferred 10/25; BFP 10/31!
EDD 7/13/14 ~ Induced at 37w4d due to pre-eclampsia ~ Born on 6/28/14
*Everyone welcome*
1. I am fairly convinced now that we have one Rocky in there, and that we lost the other one last week sometime when I had that bleed. It's not entirely rational, but yeah... that's my belief. We also still sort of hope that we have two still kicking and one of them just took a couple hours off before the 2nd beta.
2. Today was an event at work that I was a huge part of the planning committee for, but the event itself got away from me in our IVF cycle and all the non-functioning that came with that. It's been a thorn in my side since its inception.
3. I am exhausted. I seem to hit a wall around 3pm these days and can't keep going. I'm looking into nap-options for my office. Right now the idea of a camp-cot is winning, but I'm not sure I can get one for as cheap as I'd like.
4. My body is starting to hate the PIO shots hardcore. We've been using EMLA cream to numb the skin for the shot and it's not working as well anymore, plus my muscles are pretty sore by the end of the day regardless.
5. I'm having a hard time finding the thought of food appetizing, and I'm having a hard time thinking of appetizing protein sources. I'm still eating meat, but the thought of it turns my stomach a little bit.
6. Pretty much everything except water, lemon candies and regular pringles are turning my stomach these days. I'm still eating - but am walking a fine line between feeling queasy, outright gagging, and not having a desire to chew, swallow and put something in my belly. It's a conundrum.
7. I couldn't find tights that matched my skirt today so I'm bare legged. It's freezing outside. Probably a bad choice.
8. I'm nervous for our beta tomorrow. This reprieve we've had for a couple of days has been nice. I don't want bad news, and at the same time I think it's probably unrealistic for us to get the HUGE beta number back that might (maybe!) put my mind at ease until the u/s.
9. If we ever do IVF again I want to take a leave of absence from work for it. I am so emotionally and physically drained right now that I'm constantly worried that I'm going to get fired for slacking at work. It's not helpful to my overall state of mind.
10. I'm still scared to go intro on our BMB or PAIF. I've been lurking them both (and am a little intimidated by the Oct 2014 board!), but am worried that I'll jinx it if I intro there.

2. I am so tired from our trip, which was awesome, but big work week this week and I don't know how I'll make it through...one day at a time I guess.
3.@Manada, first tri just eat what you can! Its more about micro nutrients like folate, b vitamins, vitamin D, etc. I could not eat meat first tri and now am refocusing on 80-100g of protein but its hard!!! I think protein shakes will be in order...
4. Reading about @amberandrevas loss broke my heart...and was super hard to read with our loss milestone coming up this week. It's such a hard and awful thing that never really leaves you...
5. I had the first stranger touch my belly. Weird!
6. We scheduled our next 3 ultrasounds and I'm feeling very "high risk" but hoping all are clear.
7. I am so hoping for all of you TTC. I read your thread and hope so much for all of you!
8. I cooked a proper meal for the first time since New Years last night!!! Now that smell/meat aversion is gone poor J won't have to be restricted to cooking eggs and garden burgers only.
9. I am starting to tell more people I'm pregnant at work. Not quite ready to broadcast ot though. Maybe at 20weeks. Still planning fb reveal at 23 or 24 weeks.
10. I wish I had more time for TB this week!! Argh!

1. I feel like my weeks have been slammed. I started a new job and added a new kid (part time) to my schedule during the day. I love the extra money but I feel so busy, busy, busy.
2. C mentioned already but we are back in the TTC game. This makes me happy and scared at the same time!
3. I can't believe how far along @kh826 is! It feels like yesterday she announced her BFP!!!
4. I am so excited for @healz413 and @manada I could just pee! I feel like we've become a part of their journey and I can't wait to see their journey unfold.
5. I took our niece to a local play place for kids today. The big kids were really rough but luckily she was so brave and I think it really pooped her out. She went to sleep right when we got home.
6. I've decided that if I can keep my house clean and picked up for a month then we aqre going to splurge for a deep clean of the house.
7. A friend of our's brother passed away this week and I am trying to get some people together to send a flower arrangement...I feel like some people are just ignoring the email I sent and that makes me dislike people and their intentions.
8. C and I were supposed to travel home and spend time with my parents this weekend but it looks like we may be staying here. I can't lie...I'm pretty excited about it.
9. We are trying to start the journey to foster kids but I can't seem to get anyone to call me back...its a little frustrating but I can't worry about it too much.
10. There is an advertisement for Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream on facebook and it is making me what ice cream...but I can't have ice cream...guess I'll just go eat some salad...that is the same thing right?!?!

1. @ball.and.chain - I craved cereal during pregnancy too. Golden Grahams was my cereal of choice. GG was my favorite cereal as a child, but I hadn't eaten it in years. My craving for cereal went away after birth. So weird, those pregnancy hankerings.
2. @jazibel - I have my DVR set to record your episode of HHI!
3. @doodah1013 - hope your interview went well! And I think you are amazing for being unapologetically you!
4. I'm enjoying being back at work, though I definitely miss hanging with my kiddo all day. Incorporating pumping into my day is a challenge. I have a very family friendly workplace, so it's no trouble to make time to pump. I just end up missing meetings entirely or arrive late/leave early. I went ahead and blocked time on my calendar, so hopefully people can start scheduling around my pumping times.
5. I keep trying to get to work by 8:30, but haven't managed to get here before 9 yet. Not a big deal since I'm doing short days, but once I start a FT schedule next week it will begin to matter. I don't want to stay at work any later than I have to.
6. Our 2-year wedding anniversary is today!
7. Funny story. I checked mail yesterday. As I was going through the mail, there was a magazine covered in plastic. We get a bunch of junk catalogues, so I just immediately removed the plastic so I could throw the magazine into the recycle bin. Just as I was about to throw it into the heap, I notice it was a Playboy! Z was right there and she joked that it was my anniversary present. Mail person delivered to the wrong mailbox! I guess I should be an adult and take it a few doors down, but I'm a lil embarrassed.

10. Hugs to everyone who needs them.
11. Just realized I skipped, #8. Oops.
