How late did baby flip?

Baby A has been head down the entire pregnancy....until today at my 28 week appointment. I'll be getting called to schedule a C/S. I'm feeling really overwhelmed and wanted badly to have a vaginal delivery even with induction. I obviously want to do what is best for the babies and getting them out healthy is best, but I'm sad right now about it. Not what I envisioned...though when is it ever? Any chance he could still flip? Did anyone have success with techniques on spinning babies or chiropractic or accupuncture?

Not to worry yet! Many MoM say their twins kept flipping right up to the end (shocking given the lack of space but somehow they manage!). I'm 35weeks now with both being breech and am heading for my first acupuncture appt today! Acupuncture helped flip my first singleton right at the end (37 weeks I think it was). My midwives and I are holding out hope that they will still flip and I'll get a natural birth. Don't lose hope!

Thank you!!! I've had a rough day worrying about it.....I get anxious just thinking about it. I've got an appointment next week with an accupuncturist that my friend who is an OB recommends.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you - hope yours flip.

C (my baby A) was breech up until my 35 week BPP with the MFM. My csection had been scheduled since 32 weeks. My OB cancelled my csection and changed it to an induction at 38 weeks. You still have plenty of time for A to flip.

My babies were both flipping regularly right up to delivery day. Due to slowed growth my MFM wanted them to be delivered by 37 weeks. As they had been transverse most of the time my OB scheduled a c-section for 36w6d but also did an ultrasound right before delivery. If Baby A had turned head down they would have given me the option of induction. Good luck to you, whichever way it goes!

My baby B was breech at 28 weeks and then at my 32 week appt she had flipped - so they were both head down and I was able to have a vaginal delivery. Good luck!

Baby b flipped to breech after my 35w appt. I had csec at 36w and my ob was like why do I see feet?!

My baby A flipped breech at 19w and stayed that way. Baby B flipped every couple of weeks. He's the bigger twin, so I had a couple strikes against me before I hit the trifecta with a prolapsed cord after my water broke.

I'm just about 33 weeks and my twins are still freaking flipping. They are flipping weekly at this point. Baby A just went breech during dinner. It is very uncomfortable.

Thanks for all the stories, ladies. I thought there'd be a chance they had more time, but my OB seemed less optimistic, but perhaps its just to keep me prepared. They will continue to keep checking and will check day of and happily convert to an induction when I go in if he's flipped.

Thanks for easing my fears ladies. I definitely will do whatever gets them to me the safest, but am hoping for a vaginal delivery if possible.

My Baby A was vertex the whole third tri, but my B flipped between vertex and breech at *least* 5 times between 31w and delivery. You definitely still have time!

I just found out Sunday that my Baby B flipped to breech. At what gestational age is acupunture used to try to get the baby to flip? I love my acupunturist for morning sickness - so I would go back to them if needed!

JennyS86 - will your OB deliver a breech baby B? Mine will as long as he's not bigger than baby B. I'd check with your acupuncturist to see when they suggest starting. I don't know - if at 29 weeks I'm too late to the game, but since it just happened in the last 2 weeks or so this is the earliest I could start. I have my first appointment later today.

thank you for your response! my OB said something similar today about baby B being smaller. I just don't know if that is her personal feeling or the feeling of all 5 OBs in the practice.

John's last recorded flip was after 33 weeks. he was feet first at 33 and head first at 37. I didn't feel it, so I'm not sure how or when he did. Ithink he did a tuck and roll

My Baby A was breech until around 33-34 weeks. At 28 weeks I started doing the Webster Technique with my chiropractor as well as doing some Spinning Babies knee-chest at home. Once she flipped she stayed head down until delivery. Baby B continued to flip even during labor but was ultimately head down during delivery.

Thanks JodiAriel. So great to hear. I started acupuncture yesterday and am adding chiropractic care with the chiropractor in her office next week. I need to start the spinning babies stuff at home. Hope isn't lost. Thanks!
