Need Jeans recommendations

Okay fellow post partem moms... I'm still wearing maternity jeans.  I have a tire around my waist.  It has been impossible to find jeans to simultaneously fit my oversized waist and pre-pregnancy sized legs.

So - has anyone else found a brand of jeans that has some stretch to them?  I use to have a pair of jeans that had some elasticity, maybe spandex  in the fabric itself.

help?

Re: Need Jeans recommendations

  • Will you guys flame me if I tell you my favorite jeans are jeggings? Sooo soft and stretchy!
I should probably take note of some new jean recommendations too but I'll be damned if I stop shopping in the Kohls Jrs department. Fucking Princess Vera Wang shit pulls me right in every time.

I recently bought the jegging version of this brand:

    https://www.nydj.com

They're high waisted mom jeans at the top, but I think they fit cute.

ETA: I just looked at the prices. Whoa. I got them for $50 at Nordstrom rack.

  • I've never had luck with jeans since my waist is small but the hips & thighs are huge.

Most recently I really like my Express skinnies.  They have great stretch but I still need to wear a belt because they're bigger around my waist

  • Confession: @carrotcake06 I remember we both recommended Joe's and Paige jeans on a similar thread a while back. Since then, in my mind I think you are a fellow small-waisted, curvy bottom lady.

I would go to Nordstrom rack and just trying on a million things. Honestly, there is so much variation even in the same brands I feel jeans must be tried on. I got some Frankie B jeggings there a couple years ago and they were wonderfully stretchy. The felt like leggings, but had pockets, a zipper, and a button, so I was in denial of the fact they were really jeggings.

  • Oh the pain of trying on everything. Can't I have a fairy jeanmother who just delivers perfect fitting jeans to my house without the florescent lighting and tears?

Thank you for all the suggestions.  I saw the NYDJ brand and TJ Maxx recently and didn't even try them on because I didn't recognize the brand.  What a jean snob.  <jumps in the car and heads to Maxx>
  • @amongthestarz I have been purchasing a few options, trying on at home, and returning the ones that don't work. I know what you mean--there is not alway time to try everything on in store.

  • I actually just bought 2 pairs of the flirt cut from Old Navy. I had to buy the biggest size I've ever purchased, which sucks, but they fit

  • @ljutcmoommy haha, yes! Jeans shopping is the worst. I do love Joe's and Paige but I refuse to buy "fancy" jeans when I'm not where I want to be body-wise.

I agree, the only way to do it is try on a bunch of different things at Nordstrom rack or something.

  • I LOVE the Express Stella Barely Bootcut Jeans..... lots of strech, not too much of an opening. They work with heels, flats, and sandals.

  • Oddly enough 1st Kiss from Styles for Leas are beyond my favorite. I came across them when I was looking for cheap postpartum jeans. They are still my favorite jeans. I wear them almost everyday. Stretchy, not low rise but not Granny high. And really inexpensive!
  • Thanks for all of the great recommendations!  I plan to go on a search to tame the muffin top/boob couch/thanks a lot LO tummy this weekend.
