PSA: FSA eligible expenses

Hi ladies! I was doing a little research today, and discovered I can use my flexible spending account to pay for birthing classes! Thought this might be helpful info for others as well.

In addition to breast pumps being covered under insurance, I believe other breast feeding supplies are FSA-eligible as well (storage, extra tubing, etc.).

Anybody know of any other tips to maximize FSA spending?

Yes, you can flex-spend breast milk bags, hands free pumping bra, extra pump parts, etc.  We also used flex spending for our temperal themometer.  Oh, and when it was suggested that DD have a vitamin D supplement, our pedi wrote a prescription for it so we could flex spend that.
I was just wondering about bags and a hands free bra. They are so vague with "breastfeeding supplies". We have some money to spend (DS wasn't as sick this year, yay!) so I bought some of that stuff this weekend at Target and was going to see what they said when I ran it through. If all else fails I was going to buy band-aids...a lot of them, lol.

There is a FSA Online Store that tells you exactly what is covered and what isn't. I order all of my contact solution, band-aids, sunscreen, prenatal vitamins, and other things off the site (they always have coupons) and it usually takes about 5 business days to receive it.

    Edit: the website is: www.fsastore.com

  • There is also a dependent care account you can do to pay for daycare pretax. It maxes out at five thousand a year for a married couple, but its awesome.

    CSC arrived 5/7/12

    CHC arrived 6/2/14

  • @mullenem They just processed my claim as approved for both the bags AND the hands free bra. No more juggling while I pump. Woohoo!

BTW if anyone checks out that fsastore.com mentioned they have a coupon code right now for 5% off. I usually don't like to shop online too much but looks so convenient for cashing out the last of my fsa dollars.
