Underwire...friend or foe?

Before nursing underwire had been my best friend since around age 14.  I've been afraid to wear an underwire bra since I started nursing because I know they can cause clogged ducts.  Things are getting way too saggy and I think I'm in desperate need of some good underwire bras.  Has anyone had difficulties with underwire and clogged ducts?  Also, any recommendations for good bras?  I've officially outgrown my go to place - Victoria's Secret.

    I have only ever worn underwire, even while nursing, and never had a problem.

    I have to wear underwire. Things get out of control without it! No problems with clogged ducts.

    Great question. I've been looking to get some new bras now that our nursing days are coming to an end. Anyone get bras at Soma? I'm ready to graduate from maidenform and treat myself to higher quality.

    I can't believe so many of you are wearing underwire and I never thought to ask about it before! I walk around work some days wondering if I'm being judged for my saggy boobies (which are very obvious depending on how long it's been since I pumped).   

     

    @casey78 does Nordstrom carry bras in larger sizes?

    I never found nursing bras that I liked, so I have always worn underwire. I never get clogged ducts in the areas near the wires. I do get clogged ducts on the top from gravity (and going too long between feeds) if I'm wearing a less supportive bra.

    I wear underwire nursing bras from macys and haven't had any problems.

    Same. I recently got fitted and am happily supported in Cake and a converted Elomi.

    Also a Nordstrom and underwire fan. My nordstrom didn't have a huge selection in the size I needed 36 G or H) but they fitted me and suggested I look online for a bigger selection and just return what I didn't like to the store.
